| Coloring question Hi Everyone, I have a question about my new little baby, although she's now seven months old. She's been a part of my life now for four months and I'm so lucky to have her! But since I've gotten her I have been wondering about her coloring, I havent seen another yorkie like her. She's so dark, the majority of her is black. She does have some tan under her chin, and her legs are grey. Everyone says they've never seen a yorkie her color, so I was wondering what the "experts" say here on YT. I've been reading your posts now for two years since I got my very first yorkie RU and I fell so much in love with him I had to get another! My favorite saying I've heard is Yorkies are just like Lay's Potatoe Chips, you cant stop with just one! lol! I got Bonnie from a breeder in NH, she came with papers. I love her all the same, just curious to her coloring! I hope I did this right, I've tried to attach some pictures. Thanks! |

| In all honesty, I would never have guessed that she was a yorkie. Definitely the coloring is off. By 7 months the color of the yorkie would have changed to the point that the face would either be a silver/blue or tan/gold. I would think that the puppy has some mix in her. By saying that she has papers, is she AKC registered? Because anything other than that - doesn't mean anything. But..........weather 100% yorkie or not, she is still very, very cute and looks like you love her no matter what - so who cares anyway? |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I think she looks like a yorkie, and I actually love her colouring its beautiful! Even if she turns out to be a mix you are still one very lucky lady to have such a beauty.

| Her coloring is beautiful, and I've seen some darker Yorkies, but she doesn't really look full Yorkie to me? I see Schnauzer mixed in there, to be honest. Or maybe Poodle. She's gorgeous either way!

| I have a darker colored yorkie.. However, she is now silver on he back, and her face is rounder . Everyone who sees her says they want a yorkie just like her and knows that she is one. Most if the time a yorkie coat starts to change by 7months. Your little one does look like she has Schnauzer in her. It was in her face and the shape of her head. She is really cute too.

| Thanks for your replys Thanks everyone for your replys. She actually came with AKC papers, although I didnt register her, she's our pet and not for show. She is a sweetheart, but I also thought her head is a diffierent shape, it almost looks to big for her body. The vet tech didnt think she was a yorkie at first, but our vet said she was. Your all right, it doesnt matter to us at all, she's our little baby. I got her from a breeder in NH, I talked to the breeder extensively, but didnt go to the house, although I was more than welcome. I picked her up at another person who also was getting a new pup from her. She also had two other yorkies from this breeder. I was so afraid with this one since our little guy RU came from a puppy mill, (I'm almost certain) got him from a kennel, that I thought breed their own puppies. I don't know, I thought I was learning, but maybe I need more lessons. Anyways, when I saw Bonnie, I fell in love with her and I feel like we also recused RU, (he happened to be terribly sick with pnemonia and over 1000dollars later from vet bills, is the love of my life! Thanks for all your nice comments also! |

| I think she is a very beautiful girl, but I have to agree with the general consensus here, it appears that she might have a little Schnauzer in her. |
