| Has anyone tried this for fleas in the yard? I was searching the Petco site and found this: Vet's Best Flea & Tick Yard & Kennel Spray at PETCO It says it's all natural and safe to use around pets. Has anyone used it, and if so, did it work? We have a lot of rabbits and squirrels that run through the yard and I want to spray something just to be safe. |

| I use food grade diatomaceous earth, it is all natural and works wonders. I have used it for years and don't have a flea period in my yard. |

| Deb I have never heard of diatomaceous earth. Can you tell me more about it, like how do you apply and where do you get it?

| You can read about it at this link Diatomaceous Earth, Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth for Flea Control ... Diatomaceous Earth - Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth Health Benefits It works wonders on bugs, any bug that crawls DE will kill. Several years ago I had a field behind me that this person put a horse, I had always had a few fleas, but never to bad. Well after this person put this horse in the field, the fleas almost killed my Boston terrier female. I searched for a safe natural alternative to toxic chemicals. I found the DE and went to a feed store in a little town next to me and bought a 50 lb bag for $25. I sprinkled it all over the area where the dogs were and with 30 minutes there was not a flea left alive. I now do this 2 times a year and have not used any type of flea stuff in years. I dont ever have to use the frontline, advantage or any of these things. I will also add it to their food ever so often also, as it is a natural dewormer. Only buy the food grade DE. You can als add it to one of those sprayer jug things and shake up, then apply to anywhere you want it. My 6 yr old spayed pit female loves to lick it off the rocks. You can apply it to the dogs bedding and skin, be careful not to let them breathe it in. It can damage lungs, if inhaled to much. Hope this helps |
