| Is Fertilizer Harmful? After spraying the lawn three times with pesticides this summer ( ), my landlord now had the grass sprayed with fertilizer. There are little white balls laying all over the grass and the sidewalk in a block radius. I called the lawn care company listed on the little flags and asked them if it is toxic to pets, and they said 'no'. But I'm not convinced it's not harmful. Does anybody have any experience with this?

| I don't know what the pellets are, but I would NEVER trust that they will be safe. There are just too many toxins that we don't know about to trust adding the ones we can see....Try keeping your baby off the lawn for a week or two. Also, if you can find out what the chemical is, you can call poison control and see if it is okay.. |

| I don't know, but I will try to avoid your pup getting in contact with it. Is best to be safe. Maybe you can call your vet and ask what you should do if your pet gets in contact with it. |

| I'm so mad... I understand it's my landlord's property, but this is the fourth time since I got Trixie (since July), that I have to walk a block and a half away to take her potty.

| That makes me mad that they told you it wasn't harmful! Wonder what they would say if you told them your toddler was walking around in it and picking the pellets up and maybe even ate one. I wouldn't let your baby have contact with the fertilizer if at all possible.

| I would call your vet & the poison control and ask them before I'd let your baby near the stuff. It's best to be safe! Good luck, please let us know what you find out.

| A lot of fertilizer is POISON. My husband used to be a landscaper and he trained his crews on safe handling of ferts and other chemicals. Furbabies shouldn't be around ferts. |
