| Very happy to hear. BTW, I did a google search on "Le Petit Puppy", who is quoted in the article as saying not all pet stores buy from puppy mills (including their store). They have some pretty bad reviews, some of the people who purchased their pups from Le Petit Puppy have searched for the breeders and it turns out - *surprise!* - their pups came from mills. So sad that this article, which offers hope, uses a source of puppy mill dogs to give the "other side" of the story.

| I think that is wonderful and I wish all cities would follow in their foot steps!! I was completely disgusted by the second page of the article though. Here is a quote from the article... "The fact of the matter is that puppies sold by pet stores frequently come from highly reputable breeders who provide healthy loving pets to the public," said Michael Maddox, vice president of government affairs and general counsel for the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, an industry group based in Washington, D.C. "Notwithstanding isolated anecdotal stories that misrepresent pet store puppies, the vast majority of customers who bring home their canine companion from a pet store are supremely satisfied with the experience." It's absolutely disgusting!! No reputable breeder would sell to a pet store!! That's a bunch of bull if they think that most puppies from pet stores come from reputable breeders rather than puppy mills!! And the the owner from Le Petit Puppy is just lying through her teeth. I've heard of many getting puppies from there and then finding out later, surprise they came from a puppy mill. People like that just make me so angry!! Alright I'm done with my rant now. It's a great thing that they are banning pet stores selling puppies. It's just that many are going to read the article and if they don't know better they will think it is all true including the second page which is full of lies.

| Done and done! Below is what I sent to them via their "Contact us" form: I read your article "No pups for sale? Cities ban pet shops" and saw the owner of Le Petit Puppy quoted in the article for pet store puppy/kitten purchases, but noticed she would not give a list of breeders. This made me curious so I did a quick google search: "le petit puppy review" and saw some reviews of previous purchasers of their pups. Some of the reviewers had actually obtained information on the breeders their puppies came from and found out they are puppy mill breeders. One breeder mentioned they breed 30 different breeds! I understand trying to give the other side, but these people seem genuinely hurt emotionally and financially by purchasing a puppy from a pet store you quote as being a store that doesn't buy from puppy mills. I'm interested in your response to this. Thank you. I'll let ya'll know if I receive a reply. Wish their contributor had done her homework!

| This is incredible! What a brilliant way to help these animals. The statistics are astounding: Albuquerque - "Since the ban started, animal adoptions have increased 23 percent and euthanasia at city shelters has decreased by 35 percent" I truly hope that more cities follow.
