☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Is she spiteful? So my Farrah is great at doing her "business" outside. But if I leave her in the kitchen even for a moment she will leave me a "pee-spot" about the size of a quarter. And sometimes a poop! (Even after just having done it outside) She is 6 months old and the breeder says that she may quit this behavior after she is spayed. (next month) Any thoughts or experiences you have had that you can share are appreciated.

| Yorkies are very hard to house train. Stay with it. Every 20 min take outside and give a command. Mine is HURRY UP. As soon as you see her go then immediately bring her in. Good Luck she is not being spiteful just being her cute Yorkie self. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I agree with manolos mom, I don't think dogs are spiteful. Your breeder may be correct she might be marking instead of peeing if the spot is the size of a quarter. Dogs don't think of pee and poop as bad things, they sometimes will poop or pee on a spot to claim it or even as a gift for you. Cleaning with a enzyme cleaner such as Nature's Miracle removes all the protein and if they detect any protein scent they want to return to that spot. I think it's closer to a year before they are 100% trained, and some have a short setback after being spayed Manolos mom, I love your phrase "hurry up," it would be easy for me to remember!

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Thank you so much for the replies. This is my first go around with a toy dog and the housebreaking is making me a little crazy. I feel bad that her free time is in the kitchen and very little throughout the house. She left pee under an ottoman in the family room once. That was the only "gift" outside the kitchen that I have found. : ) She definitely did it more often when I first got her. She did it so much that the breeder thought she may have a UTI. No, I'm not that "lucky". LOL Thanks again.

| The only thing I can add is that she may need to go out more frequently than she is now. She's a cutie.
