My new Morkie Hi everyone, I just joined this site. I just bought a new morkie puppy but I don't get for another because she is so small. Her parents weigh 5 and 7 pounds. So do you think she will be around that size, and I payed $750 for her, do you think I over payed the breeder?

Hi Welcome to YT. I can't answer the price question because honestly my feelings with that are that there are so many mixed breeds or what they now call designer dogs that are in shelters and rescues that I don't really believe in purposely breeding or buying a mixed. Just being honest and I know some will agree with me and some will not. I have a Morkie myself. She's tiny too. Tia weighs under five pounds and she's just around three years old now. She takes after the Maltese more. The mix is great. She's so smart, calm and loving. We adopted Tia second hand from the newspaper. If you do decide to get another I hope you'll consider a rescue or look in the shelter. A good place to start is Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder. You type in your zipcode and you can type in yorkie or maltese and see what you come up with. I wish you the best with your new edition. Please post some pictures I'd love to see. Elaine

Hi and Welcome to YT! Even if you overpaid, but you've alread paid so just get ready for her. My hope is you have paid for a wonderful breeder. As for size, my Yorkie's parents were about that size and she is 10 lbs. Just more to love.

Welcome to YT! Since you already have picked and purchases your baby just enjoy her! The key now is to get ready for her and learn how to be the best mom you can be to her! Unfortunately you will hear a ton of strong opinions on mixed breeds and that they are just mutts. But personally I believe thay "mutts" can make some of the best pets and have beautiful tempermants! So enjoy her and I look forward to getting to know you and your baby better! Have a great night!

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Can't wait to see pictures of your Morkie and hear all about her. In addition to my one pure Yorkie, I also have 3 Morkies. They are all awesome dogs and you're gonna love yours! It is hard to tell the weight by the parents weight. All 4 of my doggies had a 6# mom and a 4# dad, and their weights full grown are 5#, 6#, 7# and 10#. A basic rule of thumb that sometimes works is take their weight at 12 weeks and double it for adult weight.
