| My Mommy is sooooo angry with me Dear Dog friends, I love to taste and eat everything and my momma always takes items out of my mouth. Well today I found a stuffed animal and chewed off its eye and before my momma could get it out, I swallowed it. I hate it when she opens my mouth and forces her hand in!!!! She's teaching me the "give it" command but I'm not falling for that and I'm not giving her anything for a treat! So, she had to take me to the vet and they made me throw it up. My momma says she will muzzle me forever now and I am so scared, can't she see how much fun it is to taste everything? Love Sushi |

| I am assuming your still young. Tell Mommy with the will of God you will be one that will eventually outgrown this terrible problem. I hope for your Mommy's sake you will. Some Yorkies never outgrow chewing on things but you don't want to be one of those bad babies do you? I did put a muzzle on Buddy when he was a baby because he loved eating cigarettes, pine cones and even got a stick caught in his throat one day, as I rushed like a demon to get to the vet and get it out. So please be good so you don't have to wear a muzzle. It's no fun. Don't be stubborn, take the treat and enjoy it. It's much better than eating something that you will only have to throw up anyhow, right. So be good and eat only things that are good for you. Promise? |

| You are lucky you didn't get really sick. I sometimes chew on my stuffed animals but Mommie only buys me toys that have the "not fun" soft eyes that look like somebody sewed an X on them. They aren't as much fun but they don't get me into trouble. Your friend Scooter

Thor's Human Donating Member | Dear Sushi -- The important thing is to only eat things off the ground outside, and make sure Mommy isn't looking. If you keep your head down on walks, a lot of times she won't even see! There isn't very much good stuff to eat in my house, but outside, it's a different story. Sometimes my Mommy says Drop It, and if it's not that good, I will... but if it's really tasty, I just eat it faster! My mommy tries to get it out of my mouth too, but just remember - fast and stealthy.

| Dear Sushi, I love to eat eyeballs too! That's the first thing I go for, even if they are the "not fun" ones. I love plastic noses that I can leave my teethmarks on too! But my mommy always takes those away. My trick is to ask daddy or uncle, they always give me what I want! Your friend, Uni PS my name is a sushi too.

| omg I love to do that also. I can grab anything off the street and quick. Mom tries to pry my mouth open but I usually can swallow it pretty quick. Hope she doesn't read this or I will be getting a muzzle Mia |

| I love to eat grass and weeds. Mommy thinks it's gross but she's given up trying to stop me. She says if it won't kill me it'll make me stronger, hehe |

| Your Mommy needs to use better treats and find your 'currency'. Maybe a better behavior to teach you would be the 'leave it' command, that would introduce you to the concept of not picking up something in the first place, as opposed to dropping something you already have. Both commands can be equally important, though, I'm just suggesting to teach one before the other.

| Hello Sushi I'm gald to hear you are ok, might be better if you give Mummy things you find, better than going to the vet, I used to pick up all sorts of things when we were out walking but now I listen to my Mum and just give things a sniff, sometimes at home I chew things up into little bits but I don't swallow any thing, when you get older you'll understand. Do you like vets? I don't when Mum takes me I shiver and stay stuck to my Mum and think about how much it costs to go to vet when Mum could spend that money on toys and treats for you instead.

| Oh Sushi, I'm glad you are ok. I belong to that little chewers club too My mommy is always putting her fingers in my mouth to try to get things out. I like that game. I try to scurry away from her so she can't get me but....she always catches me. Sometimes I already swallow it and say, see mom, nothing in there Be careful next time, Sushi
