| What is going on? Penny is 6 months old now. She had her spay a week ago. She is doing great except the poop thing. Penny still rings the bell hanging from the door to go pee, thank goodness. She was using the pee pads to go poop. We thought we had it made, wrong. She misses the pee pad by a mile to go poop. Now this is just started since her spay. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas? She has no idea what she is doing wrong. So much for a smart dog. Thanks for any ideas.

Place more than one pad down to make a larger square and give her more space.

| Reesie had some potty issues after he was fixed. I think they revert back a little after they go through that ordeal. After a couple of weeks he was back to normal. You just have to start training them again to remind them what to do. Hope this helps!

| Give her time. I think we all have a temporary problem after they are spayed or neutered. Don't blame her. She's been thru a lot and I'd give her about 4 pads.

| Thanks. Patience is the secret word I guess. I will add a few more pee pads here and there.

| They catch onto the bells rather quickly. In fact, at first, they think the bells are toys.

| I would say she needs time. It is a pretty major surgery for such little dogs. And the hormonal changes...

| Best if you could catch her in the act and correct her. Does she go a certain time each day? Watch her like a hawk (sorry, not a good analogy for YT LOL) and place her on the potty pad. Good luck. If she was using the pad before, maybe she will catch on even faster this time. |

| Just checking back. Maybe I will cool off soon. She was outside and did well to pee pee then back in the house when we did not see her and pottied. Guess who walked in it. I wondered why she was hiding. So that tells me she knows better. I bit my tongue and shampooed the carpet. Patience I keep telling myself. Thanks for listening. In time I hope you gals and guys can say I told you so.

| `Adding to my thread. You can say "I told you so" Penny is back to potty on the pee pads. Still rings bell but also has taken up staring at the front door when need out. So we watch more. She also rings the bell to go out to play. Oh well, whatever it takes to get her potty trained. Thanks for the ideas and help.
