| Floppy ears-Help! Yeah my beautiful babies are here and we love them to death. They are 13 weeks old and Sophie is the biggest weighing 2.1 lbs. Sadie comes in at 1.9 lbs. Both girls had a lot of hair on their ears so I shaved it down immediately. Sophie's ears came up the next morning. Littlde Sadie's didn't and she still looks adorable but I'd like to try and get them up. Can someone please give me some suggestions? Besides shaving the inside & outside I have also been massaging them to get them up. No Luck. I don't want to do anything that would hurt her but I've heard of taping. Does it work and how do you do it? I'll send pictures soon when I figure out how to do it. (LOL)

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | also taping does work...then again it all depends on the yorkies ears...if the leather is too thick and the ears are big it may not ever stand...but it is worth a shot... and no it does not hurt them...it does however irritate them at first because they are not used to having something taped to their ears....lol what i use is the medical paper tapes you can get at walgreens or something...because it does allow their ears to breathe under there...some use masking tape...some user painter tape... also when you go to remove the tape be very careful if you are cutting it out...don't want to nip their little ears...hehe...what i like about the paper medical tape is that i can unravel them the same way i put them in...

| If they are going to stand up, they will. Zeke's did not stand up totally until after he got his permanent teeth. I have never shaved his ears or done anything to them, and in time, they stood up on their own, but not until he was about 6 mos. old or so. |

| I've heard that sometimes they stand and sometimes they don't, and tape can definitely help. Ruger's ears were up when I got him and have stayed up. His pedigree is longer than the Dead Sea Scrolls, but I don't know if that makes a difference. |

| Thanks! Thanks to everyone for your input. I am going to try the taping up today with the surgical tape since I already have some. Keep your fingers crossed that it works.

| Keeping my fingers crossed Well it's been a long morning...took all the fur babies for a walk, washed 3 loads of clothes, bathed 3 furbabies, put top notch in for first time on the girls and taped ears. Oh and baked two cakes...I'm having lunch and taking a nap. Keep your fingers crossed that my little girl's ears come up really fast. She doesn't seem to mind the taping but her sister is trying to chew her ear off. Not good!
