| Excessive licking? Rocky has these little moment once in a while when he come up and start licking my arms, hands non stop for at least half an hour. I don't mind, and he only does it once or twice a month. Does it mean anything? He is in great spirits overall and so am I. |

No...no lotion or cologne or anything like that. I would have noticed.....its random. He just becomes this love bug and goes on kissing spree that just lasts for a while. | |

| My George does that. I guess some would say it is OCD, but it does not bother me. He is a very sweet little guy and if it makes him happy, fine with me!

| Rio has to lick EVERYONE she meets. Most dog people don't mind her kisses, but my non-dog family and friends get grossed out. I just tell them to put their hand between Rio and their face so she licks their hand instead of their face! She also sometimes licks her paws like a cat. Someone said excessive licking could be allergies (in a past post on YT) but I don't think Rio licks because of allergies. She's just a little lovey dovey girl! |

| Pasquale tends to do this...but its right before he decides to take a nap. I think it's his way of putting himself to sleep....sorta like a thumb sucking for babies. When he starts doing it...i know he's about to go to sleep LoL

| Often when they have allergies, they will lick their feet. That is true. You can also tell if they have allergies by looking closely at the coloring of the hair on their feet...especially between the pads. If they have allergies, you will see a pink tinge.

YT 2000 Club Member | Jasmine feels the need to vigoriously lick my hands a few times a day. She does not give this honor to any one else but me. If I want her to stop, I will tell her and she will stop immediately but, it usually doesn't bother me. She prefers me and that is just her way to show her affection.

| I have a licker too! I don't really like my dogs licking me, but my husband lets them do it. He even lets one of them lick his ears! Ewwww! Anyways, I know that when you sweat, the moisture in your perspiration contains salt. And animals like to lick you because of that salt that is given off in your perspiration. I am not saying this is why they lick on you, but it could be one of the reasons!

| Wyatt has been a licker since I brought him home as a puppy. It drives me nuts. He wakes up in the middle of the night and sticks his tongue in my ear. I can't seem to get him to stop. He loves to lick everyone. Some people think it's cute but I would much rather he didn't. I have tried everything to get him to stop and at 8 months he is still going strong. He even licks his fur brothers and sisters. |
