| Breed standard I wans't sure if I should post this in the breeder section or here, so if I've made a mistake I do apologize. I was wondering if someone could elaborate on the coat colour standard. It says tan and blue. but is a light, silvery tan and blue more desirable, or is it preferred to have a rich gold and a deep blue?

| According to the AKC breed standards for Yorkshire Terriers... Blue: Is a dark steel-blue, not a silver-blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs. Tan: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to still lighter tan at the tips My understanding from that is a dark steel blue with a light tan. Correct me if I'm wrong.

| Thank you missy (love the photo of the pup with her tongue out btw ) I'm a bit confused with the tan...Do they mean a sandy colour or a rich colour?

| Thank you! I've always understood it as more of a sandy colour, but I am no expert just an avid yorkie lover. Why are you asking? Just curious?

| I think this is the shades of blue and tan that are considered "ideal".

| Missy, I have a confession. I purposely look up your posts in hope you've posted pics of your girls. They are so cute..To me there's something special about your yorkies. Extra cute! And I was reading some thread about black and tan yorkies, golden parti yorkies, yorkies that are mainly blonde, and I just wondered what was 'ideal.'

| Aww thanks, that's really nice of you! I just got a new camera for Christmas, so I will be posting more pics as soon as I learn to use it properly. My girls are probably far from "breed standard", but I don't care

| Are you thinking of getting another Yorkie anytime soon? You are yorkie-less right now, aren't you?

| Yes, I am. Actually I'm trying to stick with volunteering for my doggie fix. I want to wait till my dog killing ex is far away. Not gunna lose my next baby. This one will most certainly be treated as a child...No one going to kill him/her!
