| Head coloring question-- Keeley is now about 7 months old, his coloring is changing. His head color looked like it was starting to come in tan, then he tricked me and it is coming in white with tan streaks around his mouth, nose and ears. His legs have lightened up a lot too. I was wondering if it could still come in tan, or if it could stay whiteish. Not that it matters I just haven't seen Yorkies the color he looks like he is turning... Anyone have super light headed yorkies? What age is it when they have their permenant color? |

| I found a great thread on this site called, Yorkie Coats, Colors, and Puppy growth Chart Threads. There are tons of information. I really enjoyed reading it. I printed out the information, so I could compare it to my babies. Hope you find it helpful! My Meggie, turned white and then silver and now is turning a lite gold. Tori, is 3 1/2 months and looks bald on top because the hair has changed to a white. everywhere else it is a light gold. I sure hope her head continues to change and eventually turns gold. Good luck with your baby. Little-Bit, Meggie, Tori, Cassie and Roscoe's Mom. |

| Typically, yorkies that have a silver head will turn tan or golden around a year old. I saw this written somewhere in a book and have experienced it personally. Lisa

| I was probably 7 or 8 months old in that photo. The top of his head was completely silver/white at that time. Cooper's is the same way now and he is 7 months old. Right at a year, I could see that the silver was changing. Now . . . at 15 months, Carter has NO silver in his head.
