| Fetch addiction! Hi guys, it has been a while since I have posted on YT, but I come to you with a question. My 2.5 year old yorkie girl, Violet, is fetch addicted. Literally from the moment she sees the whites of someone's eyes in the morning, she has a toy in their face. And quite literally, Does....Not... Stop. ALL DAY long , until she goes into her crate for night-night. I think she is an anxious pup, when she cant get a hold of her toy, she freaks out, starts foaming at the mouth! It's crazy! I humor her. However, there are times when I have guests at my house when I really don't want Violet jumping on them with her slobbery toy. Do you have suggestions for me that I could try to curb this fetch addiction? I've thought of the Kong, which she loves, and will keep her busy for 15 mintues or so, but then she's right back at it! It's really annoying actually!! Thanks!

| One of my first yorkies, Channel, had an addiction just like that. She would sit and bark at us for us to throw her toy. It got so out of control that we just had to hide her toys when we got tired of throwing it. Channel did not care how big a toy was, she would try to pick it up. She would go after a basketball or anything round that rolled. One day she went after a watermelon we had sat on the floor. She was one silly girl. My only suggestion is to put her toys up and only let her play with them when you are ready. You should have chews available for her to chew on to keep her from getting bored. Good luck with her. |

| Our Princeton is ball obsessed. If someone is willing to throw it he will play all day. He has learned that when I take the ball and "put it away" it is time to stop. He is 3.5 and understands that now but it did take him awhile for him to learn. Good Luck!
