| 9 weeks is generally too young for them to be standing up already. Usually between 12-15 weeks you will start to see them coming up. They may go up and down as they go through teething, too. At 9 weeks I certainly wouldn't be worrying about them tho.

| You can trim the hair off the upper part of their ears. Sometimes the weight of the hair is enough to hold them down.

| Bailey had one ear straight up at 3-4 months and one was still down for another month. They just all went up on their own with time... but I think it is so cute either way...

| I wouldn't worry about this at all - few pups have ears up at 9 weeks - usually it's quite a bit later.

| There are several articles/books that explain how to tape a Yorkie's ears to encourage them to stand up. I agree that 9 weeks is too early to worry, but the tape does work at least it did for my dog. One of her ears was up and one down. I taped the ear for only one day and that was enough. A week or so later the ear that was up went down and I taped that ear and it came up. They may have come up on their own, but I believe the tape did help. And be sure to get the hair clipped around the top of the ears, the weight does cause them to droop. |

| You can damage his ears if you start taping them too soon! I have two puppies and the girl's ears were not up until she was older than 12 weeks. Just keep them shaved and wait until he is older to tape them.

| Pixie's ears are only half way up at 12 weeks! I am hoping eventually they will pop up! I can't wait to see what she looks like!! So don't feel bad at 9 weeks I am sure they will eventually come up!!~Joyce

| Same with Saydee. They are cute right now with that half flop thing going on. I trimmed her ears about a third down and around the top outer edge. DH wants me to trim more because I didn't know how much to trim off Rily's and I really trimmed too much...but, his ears were up in two days. I may trim a little more off Saydee's. She is almost 13 weeks now.

| Lucky's didn't stand until he was 16 weeks old....then only one stood for quite awhile! I had myself adapted to the idea that he was going to only have one up! I trimmed off the extra hair on the tips of his ears and in the nites when we would be watching TV,I would rub his ears until he fell asleep! After awhile of this they both stood on their own.....He still loves his ears being rubbed too...lol
