| how big is to big so the puppy i might be getting is going to be 15-20 pounds and gatsby is 5 1/2. im worried that that might be to big i know some of you have big yorkies and some have small and some have both, i really believe in rescueing dogs and i cant justify buying another yorkie when this dog needs me she is a chi sheltie mix and cute as a button her mom was ten pounds and dad was 23 pounds si im hoping for 13 or 14 but expecting 20. dose enyone have dogs of this size ?do they play together okay? is it safe?

| I have five yorkies weights and ages vary. 8 yrs is 14.2 lbs, 6 yr old is 6 lbs. 1 /12 yr old is 6 lbs 6 month old is 4 lbs, and 5 1/2 month old is 3 lbs. They all play well together, but I do have to watch the biggest one with the smallest one. Harley doesn't realize how much bigger he is than the 3 lb guy. If he steps on Peanut's paw, Peanut will cry out.

| I would not pick her up just yet. They learn a lot in the first few weeks of their life from their mommy. As far as big and small dogs, you just have to make sure you train her to be mindful of your smaller pup. At a younger age they might hurt your little one on accident. When we had a bigger dog we trained him to lay down when they played so he would not step on our smaller one. So as long as you keep on eye on them they should be great friends.

| 5 weeks is way too young to bring her home. I have a 4 1/2 week kitten and it doesnt even have teeth yet. Plus they learn important socialization from the mother
