Donating YT 500 Club Member | Coyotes in my neighborhood 'area' Yesterday when I was driving home I saw a coyote crossing the street on the main road into my neighborhood. It was coming from what's left of a ranch that wraps around our development. There are a few cows and calves out there. We live near a creek too and there's tons of feral cats out there. It really gave me the creeps though. I am keeping a big eye on my babies and no more outside in the dark!!! I'm fine with the peepee pads!!! Anyone else worry about these? I live in Austin, Texas. We have our share of wild life but I'd only heard stories about coyotes, never seen one around here before.

| I live in suburban Chicago and they are here too. I've seen them run in front of my car while driving in the evening. I worry about them all the time too.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | A friend of mine's dad has a smaller jack russell and live in the Redlands in California, a coyote grabbed his dog and he threw a brick at it! The coyote dropped the dog and now the dog won't go outside!!!! I wouldn't either!!! I watch them pretty closely because we also have oppossums, raccoons, feral cats that Zoe LOVES to chase ugh and snakes!

| Absolutely. When my husband and I are out in the night we see tons of coyotes and foxes crossing the road. Also we have alot of bearsSo that is why I also use piddle pads at night. I am very protective over my little one's |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Oh that's funny (well not hahah funny but.....) i thought it was a fox that crossed, until I got where it had crossed, I looked over and it had stopped and turned around and I could tell it was a coyote, it had a big head! I've seen foxes, the coyote slinked a bit like one and was close to the ground but it had a HUGE head when I drove by.

| Yeh, I just shiver when I see one crossing the road. My husband always like to stop the vehicle when he can and try to see where it went too, and here I am thinking let's just go alreadyI believe we have every wild creature here where we liveAnd since I heard about Jessica Simpson dog being taken by one it just scares me to death, but I don't have my babies out at night and in the day time I watch them very close and never let them get out of my sight |

| I hear ya we have all sorts of wildlife where I live here in Wisconsin in fact a friend of mine and were floating down the river this past summer and 2 wolves came running out of the woods into the river after us right by my house scared the daylights out of us.The other thing that scares me is the owls and eagles. So day or night danger lurks everywhere. But we do use the puppy pads and they seem to work quite well. |

that reminded me. My grandmother had a cockapoo named Susie ( I just mentioned Susie on another thread) and she was dropped off out in the country by where they live and found a hole under their garage. Lived in there with an oppossum before they could coax the little puppy out! She lived a good long life maybe being hardened a bit by that oppossum before she got the good life LOL too funny!

| Here in KC I have to worry most about hawks and owls. I once saw a hawk attack and fly away with a rabbit that was larger than my dog.....he flew right over the hood of my car when I was stopped at a traffic light. I also have a great barred owl that camps out a few times each year in the trees above my backyard. The neighbors think all that hooting is cool; I think he's a predator stalking my dog!!!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hawks are awful, too! We've seen those take off with cats! I have indoor kitties, I couldn't having them outside fighting off all those creatures either! We see raccoons coming out of the sewers and the cats too! No telling what they are picking up!

| Oh, this one here is a doozy. About 2 weeks ago one of the neighborhood kids was playing with my nephew outside at his house (their about 2 houses down from where I live) Me and my hubby had our little ones out on the porch playing and all of a sudden we heard someone screaming help, help, it's eating himSo we jumped up and it was my nephew screaming to the top of his lungs to help, help. Somehow his friend and him had found a little chipmunk and the other boy started chasing it trying to catch it , well somehow or another that chipmunk ran up his arm and into his shirt and he couldn't get it out and my nephew is only 5 and the boy with the chipmunk about 7. So our other neighbor yelled out take off your shirt, take off your shirt so the kid did and it ran away. That kid was just crying and screaming his lungs out but thankfully he wasn't harmed. But I tell you what afterwards we couldnt help but laugh all day about it. Cause just seeing how big my nephew eyes were and him screaming help, help, emergency, it's eatin' him. And that kid was just jumping around screaming his head off. Oh, and that kid gets into so much mischief anyways and won't listen to anyone. But, I believe he won't be trying to catch anything anymoreToo Funny |
