| Shampoo or other products? My yorkie has long, straight hair that is very dry. I comb him everyday because his coat gets easily tangled but his hair always looks uncombed. Are there any products or shampoos that I could use to make his coat look shiner and healthier? |

| What are you feeding him? They need enough omega 3 & omega 6 oils in their diets to keep the skin & coat healthy. I've heard great things about an oil you add to their food called Ark Naturals Royal Coat Express. I think it's YT member AMD who just started carrying it on her website, www.westbrookdog.com after so many people gave it great reviews. Oh, and what kind of shampoo/conditioner are you using? I understand human shampoo is the wrong ph for dogs and can dry out their skin and coat.

| Confused about food and coat products He is still eating beneful which is the food he's been eating since I got him. I'm still confused as to what food he should be eating because I get so many different answers when I ask around. I plan on changing his food but I dont know what food I should feed him. I'm going to check that website out to begin with. As for shampoo, I use a puppy shampoo I bought from Petco, but I know its no good. Any suggestions for food and shampoo/other products would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the info... |

| I use Yorkie Splash, a shampoo made specifically for Yorkshire Terrier coats. It's hand made with all natural organic ingredients with a ph over 9. I think it's about $8.00 a bottle but a little goes a long way. You can google it for more info. I can bathe Sophie every week with it and it doesn't dry her skin or coat out. It makes her feel fabulous and smells great. Even my groomer loves it and wanted to know if it was available for other breeds, too. Jackie & my Sophie |

| Yes, I would definitely recommend changing his food from Beneful. Here's a thread about how different foods score http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ing-chart.html. A website you might want to look at is www.dogfoodanalysis.com. Their 'Review' section is very informative about different brands and foods. I usually feed Nature's Variety Instinct kibble (I really like the entire Nature's variety line of foods) or Taste of the Wild kibble, and Nature's Variety raw medallions. There are many good foods out there such as Innova, Orijen and Wellness. As for shampoo, I've been using Minksheen. Recently I've seen a lot a great reviews here on YT for the Biogroom line of products. I think Petsmart just recently started carrying Biogroom.
