| Yorkie ears i know this has been a subject for a while but i have been read'n how to make them stand up. pretty much did the tape and kept them on for like 2 weeks. once i removed them they are stand'n up but them after a few hours they're down. the left one would go up sometimes and the right one barely. but most of the time they are down. i've been feed'n him cottage cheese with his diet too. i also massage them from time to time. smokie is 5 months now. i don't want to put tape on him again cuz it was painfull to see him cry when i would take it off. so should i just wait till they stand on their own? which they will stand right? |

| I'm not much help because Rowdy's ears stood up on their own after I shaved them. Do you have your baby's ears shaved? If not, you might try that - that's all I know, I'm not much help. Someone else with more info will surely answer!

| Our daughters Yorkies ears were down when she got him at 8 weeks. She did everything they say to do also. Taping, shaving, massaging, even calcium rich food. Nothing ever worked. Like you, she would leave the tape on for a week and they would stand for a few hours and droop right back down. I swear that puppy had his ears taped till he was five months old. It never worked. Sorry if this bumms you out. I seriously have never heard of a successful taping job after they reach 3 months. But we all think Yorkies are beautiful regardless if the ears are up or down. |

| Ok.. here is a fix which worked well for me. I got it from Yorkies Heads to Tail book. Take a brown grocery bag. -cut a triangle the shape of the ear, - but just a bit smaller than the ear shape- useing eyelash glue-tiny dots on the outside edge of the paper. press litely. leave on for about a week. Ralphies ears have been perfect.

| I spoke to my vet in regards to the whole cottage cheese thing, and he said there is no truth to that, but I still think it's a good idea for the calcium benefit. He said, that even feeding him human food wouldn't be a good idea, but after I read a post on here talking about the cottage cheese thing, I gave Tigger some. He loved it. I was hoping to make his ear stand back up, but it went up on it's own. Yay!!! My suggestion about the cottage cheese thing? hey why not? what harm could it do? |

| i had the same problem a month ago. I did not want to tape pudge's ears so I started trimming the edge of his ears hair, it did not work...so I trimmed the entire 2/3 of his ears hair. One ear stood up, and I waited for another week for the other ear to stand up, but it did not work again. I finally decided to tape the other ear, in just 2 days, it stood up. I thought that it would be painful for him, but it wasn't....and I suggest that you use first aid tape ( the white soft paper ) -good luck |
