| Help Need to pick one Hey everybody, needing to pick a puppy from my female and I am so confused! I have a cute male puppy with a very full coat and 1 female with very short (wirey) coat. The male has a very shy personality and the female is very out going. What I am looking for is a baby that will want to be held and loved on. My female (The mother) is a very sweet dog but, does not like to be held. She will sit next to you all day long but, really can care less if she is in your lap! I want a lap dog!!!! Are the males more loving? And what about the females coat, will it stay short?

| It sounds like the male would be the loving one if he has the shy personality. He might be the one that just wants to be cuddled with where as the female may turn out to be like her mom. Its a hard choice I wish you luck with it!

| Can't say whether males or females are more loving, My Coco (male) is such a mush. My Trixie (female) thinks she is a lap dog but a teapot. And my Pebbles is a bit of both it depends how she is feeling at the moment. Sometimes you can hold her and she's fine other times she doesn't want to be held at all. They all have different personalities boy or girl doesn't matter on the mushy aspect.

| I've always owned female dogs so I can't speak for a male. I did have a male puppy for a very very short period and he was cuddly but he was very young. I had two female yorkies, my first Stormy was VERY cuddly and would lay on my chest all day long giving kisses. She was very laid back and calm, quiet and not a big barker or player. My Lola now is hyper, playful full of energy. She is still young but she will cuddle on her own terms. She will sleep next to me but she likes to lay on my fiancee's chest. It all depends on the dog but being so young it is hard to tell! |
