| My baby is a genius! Okay... that might be going a bit far..LOL...but I am so proud of him! Last night, my husband was playing with Tobie with his toy. He stopped and told Tobie to... sit (Tobie sat), Down (Tobie laid down)... both of these he knows already and then jokingly said "Roll over" and did a roll motion with his hand and Tobie did it!! Both of our jaws dropped and then we died laughing. He has never even heard those words before! We wanted to see if he would do it again... the second time he hesitated but after a few seconds he did it again. After 5+ times, Tobie now definitely knows "roll over". Up until last night, I thought my Rat Terrier was the smartest dog I have ever had... Tobie just took that title. LOL So then he did something even funnier last night this was more than likely just a coincidence but then who knows! Yesterday I decided to try something... when I go to take a bath sometimes Tobie is busy doing something and doesn't follow me into the bathroom but ends up scratching on the bathroom door. I decided that when I go to take a bath, I am going to yell for him and if he doesn't come then I am going to count to 3 and then shut the door and he missed out. I wanted to see how long it would take him to catch on that when I got to 3 the door was shutting. I did it once yesterday and of course he didn't come and I shut the door. Then last night I went to fill their water bowl and then was headed to take a bath. Tobie was thirsty and was getting some water so I waited on him. When he was finished I headed to the bathroom but when I got in there I turned around and he was gone. I yelled for him and nothing... so I said, "Okay, 1.....2......3" and as soon as I said "3", Tobie came hauling butt around the corner and into the bathroom. I was laughing so hard! Surely, he didn't catch on that quickly but if it was a coincidence then he's got perfect timing! LOL.

| I'm sooo jealous! My boy will not roll over to save his life! I've tried watching videos and read methods to teach him to roll over, but he just won't do it! I just can't get him to lay on his side

Zeus was quick to learn tricks. Now anytime we have treats in hand he sits, lays and rolls over and will give paw all in a sequence waiting for his treat. We still laugh at this. Yorkies are so smart | |

YT 1000 Club Member | Aww how cute! I love how quickly they can catch on. I'll bet he does know what the 3 means. Roxie rolls over but she's very picky about where. If it's on a hard surface forget it. It probably hurts her back. If the carpet needs vacummed forget it. If the floor is soft and clean she'll do it everytime. She won't hestiate to roll in something nasty outside though. Go figure!

| Maybe he is just uncomfortable on his back. I would just keep trying. Good luck! |
