| Good News about Sadie's weekend!! Well this has been a long and awesome weekend! First of all Sadie went to the vet for her second round of shots. It made me nervous as can be to take her in there and they wanted to give her sooo many things. My DH talked me into trusting the vets so i did and they kept her there from 9am-4pm and i about had a heart attack. I cried a lot during the day because i missed her and wanted her back. When she finally came back, i had to go to this block party and set up a vendor booth for my job. i called the YMCA that the party was at and asked if we were inside or outside...then i asked if i could bring Sadie since we were outside...they let me, so she was in her little crate on my vendor table the whole night. she got nervous about the band at first and then settled in for a long nap. when she was awake we got our hamb. and chips and she had a small bite of the buger part she pottied outside in the grass at the YMCA where i was at...GOOD GIRL. mostly i didn't ever put her down except to pee once and i didn't let her stay there long. i got a little pissed because EVERYONE tries to touch a cute puppy like that and it made me so mad because she hasn't had all her shots yet and the only reason i brought her was to keep an eye on her after all the ones she'd just gotten. i mostly kept her in the crate, but still people would stick their fingers in there to her mouth... UGHHH.. this one lady had hair dye spray paint crap all over her hands and started malling my baby and petting her.... WHY CAN'T PEOPLE ASK TO TOUCH MY DOG?? You wouldn't go up to a strangers newborn baby and just start touching it all over and bothering it while it was asleep...come on people it's not that much different..she's MY baby so hands off!!! Anyways Sunday we went up to my mom and dads for a day trip. Sadie slept all the way there (1 hour drive) and then played and played and played in the yard all afternoon. she got really cold so we had to put her in a sweater which my dad (who originally told me clothing on dogs is stupid, they will all adapt to the environment) actually was ok with and thought she needed it to be warm and could tell she was cold!! my mom loved her, dad wanted to play and get her attention, and my sister and her b/f are like the best dog sitters ever!! anyways it was a perfect weekend trip and Sadie never whined or cried while we were there...she was an angel at all her new experiences also, she got her butt trimmed, ears shaved and trimmed, and her paws trimmed and nails clipped (my cousin is a dog groomer) all in all she had a great weekend and was a perfect angel, so my dad agreed to let us come up next weekend for labor day holiday and stay the night with Sadie in tow!! he totally did get over his "no dogs in the house rule" and he let that one go FAST. anyways just thought i'd share our wonderful experience, now Sadie and her daddy are home on their day off together and i'm back to work |

| I'm so glad it went so well and your dad warmed right up to her. Though I can't imagine him not with a cute little face like hers

| I'm glad your dad came around...it is hard to resist puppies but, you shouldn't have taken her to a public place so soon after getting her shots. If you didn't want people sticking their fingers in her crate, you should have had her further away so they couldn't do that. Taking her outside in a public area to go potty, shouldn't be done yet at her age. I do hope you take peoples advise and be very careful with her exposure until all her shots are complete. |

i know it was not good to bring her in public areas, but i was careful and protective and felt that was a better option than home alone. | |

| Sounds like a good weekend. I am glad to hear that your dad has relaxed a bit, it is so nice, my parents love our guys and they thought we were crazy for having little dogs. Sounds like everything is coming together. I would have told them that she is there for you to monitor- people dont know there boundaries and you have to just be upfront that you dont want them to be touching her. I will be doing the same with my pup soon, not because of shots but because he is so small.
