| Yorkie Part Deux Hello everyone, I think its time for another yorkie…cant believe I said that! LOL I swore up and down that I wouldn’t get another dog, but Izzy needs a playmate bad. My cousin was in town for a few weeks and she has a maltese. Izzy and Tiffany (the maltese) had a great time together! They played so well. When they saw each other it was like they were old friends. With that said, what advice to you have? Since Izzy is almost 3...Aug 16 and has always been the only dog, what should I do to prepare him for another one? I’m thinking about getting a rescue yorkie, girl if I can…around the same age. I don’t want to go through the puppy stage again. ~Karla

| Well, since I have four, I'm all for getting another one! I have two rehomes and two rescues! I'm all for trying to give them homes! Plus, like you, I'm not wanting to go thru all that potty training and puppy stuff! The fact that your baby plays well with others is a positive sign! I would certainly take your time in trying to find just the right dog though, don't get one just to get one. One rescue wanted to make sure all our other dogs got along with the new one and insisted on us having a get together to see how it went. I also got to talk with the person who was fostering my Silky before we took her, to get a handle on her personality, play habits, etc.. That really helped as well. Good Luck!
