| Im a pround new mommy!!!!! Hi All, I havent been on in a while because I got married and went on a honeymoon, but it was our first month anniversary and we got ourselves a 3 month old yorkie!!! He is so, so precious. We waited to find the right one and he is from a breeder! I love him so much, I will try to upload pics, I hope it works. Now I need some advice, I dont think I like the food and treats that he is on now. I will finish the bag, but then I think I want to gradually switch him on something else. What does everyone recommend for food brands? Also, if someone could recommend a shampoo that would be great. Thanks so much!!! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Congratulations!!! Can't wait to see pictures. I like Pet silk and Minksheen shampoos and coat handlers. I am looking for a new food now too so I am not sure what to switch to. To post you have to resize your pictures down, I usually go to a 600 by 400 size. Then hit go advanced and then go to manage attachments and download your resized pictures and then submit thread. If this doesn't help there is a sticky on here that is much better at telling you.

| Healthy and Easy Home Made Recipe upon Request I have a fantastic recipe for homemade dog food. Some people are really into these types of things due to the recent scares with the rotten grains and things that are put into our dog foods and make our babies sick. This recipe is simple, and you can make a huge batch and put it in the freezer, not to mention their breath smells better and they poop less often and a lot cleaner than the commercial dog foods. If you are interested, I've copied it below. It is from my aunt whose mother's hobby is dog nutrition and she wrote this up: The recipe came from my mom who's hobby is dog nutrition. She's very serious about it!! She has helped others who have dogs with special needs by using this basic recipe and then adding supplements based on their situtation. I usually double the batch: 1/2 lb lean ground beef (80% or leaner) 2 can sardines (or canned salmon of the same weight) 1 cup cooked rice 1/2 c. veg of choice (spinach, carrots, etc.) 2 large eggs (slightly cooked) 3/4 tablespoon bone meal 1/2 teaspoon potassium 1 tablespoon safflower oil = 1569 calories I find the sardines rather smelly - so I substitute 4 oz of cottage cheese or ground turkey (I usually do both!). My hubby hunts, so I sometimes replace the hamburger with deerburger. Do not substitute ground pork. Since I removed the sardines (a very important ingredient), then I squeeze a fish oil caplet every other day over her breakfast. I also add 1/3 childrens multivitamin daily (the ones without artificial sweetener). Feel free to add 1 oz of liver to the batch - its good for them. All human grade products. I get the bone meal and potassium from iherb.com. I first made a batch without all the supplements - just to see if Bailey liked it. SHE LOVED IT - so its been this recipe ever since! I serve one spoonful per serving (the larger spoons) twice a day. It doesnt seem like much - I know. I store it in 10 oz plastic containers about 3/4 full in the freezer- one container lasts about 3 days. Tip: I put the raw eggs in the hot rice and let it sit a while (hence partially cooked eggs) Good luck!!! Let me know if you need anything! |

| Congratulations on your marriage and your new baby I like Evo dog food. Shampoo that I use is Pure Pet's Pure Pearl shampoo. It's tearless and has coconut oil conditioners in it. I don't apply a conditioner as I keep Barley's fur shorter. He gets a bath once a week and I use a damp warm wash cloth on his face daily and babywipes on his body every few days for in between bath freshness.

| Congratulations!!! Can't wait to see pictures. Juicy eats Innova and she has been doing good on it, I def recommend it. As far as treats go, I give her all types as long as they are good for her (natural, organic). The shampoo we use is Minksheen on her body, it leaves her coat so soft and easy to manage. She has a cottony coat and other shampoos leave her hair dry and tangled. For her face, we use a tearless baby shampoo.
