Just born puppy formula ??? Hello everyone, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct section but I'll still give it a try, as many of you know I have a new litter they turned 1 week today, I am having a bit of trouble with the mom, she seems to run out of milk. The puppies are doing great really chubby, but I wanted to give her a hand just to make sure they dont go hungry, I went out to petco to buy them formula and they didnt have Esbilac, all they had was just born, and K9 something, I decided on the just born but wanted to know if anyone here on yorkietalk has used it. Please advise me on what I should do, I already bought Nutri Cal for The momma. Thank You, Talina

What makes you think mom is running out of milk? Are you weighing the pups every day? If so as long as they are gaining I wouldn't supplement the puppies as the more they suck the more milk mom should produce. Also is this a big litter?

I check her every once in a while and she has very little milk, the puppies nurse but still whine a little after, we have a litter of 3, but they eat all day, Mom has never been a big eater. So i guess that might be a factor. As far as weighing them I have been and they have been gaining weight and are super active, they move around all day.
