| Someone tried to runover my Ziggy!!! So I come home today and I'm taking my time getting out of my car (I've sprained my knee and I'm in an immobilizer and on crutches). I start to walk towards the house, I saw a golf cart coming so I called Ziggy, but he ignored me and continue to stand in the driveway (about three feet from the road). The golf cart, which was driving in the middle of the road, swerves, then makes a bee-line for the driveway and towards Ziggy. I yelled" You better watch it" when they were about (six feet from the dog,) to let the two seventeen- eighteen year-old girls know that I'm standing 20 feet away form the dog. They ignored me and sped off laughing. Well this scares Ziggy so he runs to me and I prop up on one crutch and carry him to the house. After he's secure I go back out the the car on a mission to talk to those girls. I found the girls. I asked "Are you the girls that came up on the dog in the yard?" Blondie's answer "Yes" Me: What were you going to do to the dog? Blondie: Pet him (I realize she wasn't going to answer me flat out, "I was goign to runover him") Me: You were going to pet someone else's dog, in their yard? Blondie:Yeah Me: I was standing 20 feet from the dog, if you wanted to pet him you could have asked me I would have brought him to you Blondie: (Silence, she turns and is ignoring me) Me: LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! IF I EVER CATCH YOU RUNNING UP IN THE YARD TRYING TO RUNOVER OR SCARE MY DOG, THE PLOICE WILL BE CALLED AND I WILL PRESS CHARGES. (at this point she's on her phone trying to call someone- still ignoring me.) Me: Do you understand? DO YOU UNDERSTAND? I better not catch you ever doing that again. Then I drove home. I did call the police to make sure there was a record of someone trying to runover my dog, in case she ever tries to do it again. Then went and turned on the porch light, expected mad parents or the girls to come back to the house, (and I would have dealt with whoever decided to come). And I sat down and waited. Its been two hours now and I don't think anyone is going to come. Was I wrong to do that? I don't usually call people out, but what happens if she tries to do that to our outside cat when we're not home. I shouldn't have yelled, but she had and attitude and she was ignoring me. Was I in the wrong? Should I have let her go without letting her know someone saw her and will fight for her pets? |

| Oh, sorry this happened to your little one. How ignorant of them. I probably would have reacted the same way if not worse. I glad he is ok! |

| No, you were not wrong. I don't know what is wrong with people these days and young ppl are the worst. And, girls are no better than boys. I shutter to think what their lives will be like when they are adult, cronologically speaking. If we don't stand up for ourselves and our pets, children, property etc., we will be run over. I used to never call ppl out, I hate confrontation, but these days you almost have to or it just gets worse. Then, civilized ppl dread what will happen next. Just like you waiting to see if someone showed up. It's a dificult balancing act to know when to reproach someone and when to leave the crazies alone. Thankfully, you both are alright. I'm sorry this happened to you, but I think you did the right thing. |

| I think you did right by holding these girls accountable. I have to agree, I probably would have been tempted to throw my crutch at them.

| Thank you!!!! Everyone I've talked to in my family said that I shouldn't have done it. So I've been feeling bad for Blondie, because I yelled at her like no one has ever yelled at her in her life. I've read a couple of stories here where something similar has happened and owners have had to stick up for their pets. Have any of you had to go through similar things? |

| Look at that baby, who would ever want to hurt him? Kids/teens can be so cruel. Good thing you were there who knows what would have happened. And you were absolutely in calling them out on their bad behavior, I would have went a step further and knocked on their parents door and let them know about their little witches! |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | You go girl! I would have done the same thing. People are nuts and some are sickos! Did you hear about the Cat Serial Killer in Miami. I swear if anyone came on my property and hurt, or killed my animal, they would meet a bullet. I dont have kids, my animals are me and my hubbys babies. I know these are kids and its different than being a animal killer, but it is good you called them out on it. I mean, she very well could have killed him! If that was my child, she would be SOOOOO punished! |

Thor's Human Donating Member | You absolutely did the right thing. If her intentions were good, she would have apologized to you and that would have been that.

| What in the world had she done if your baby had not come when you called?? Idiot! I personally would have lost it. And I HATE confrontation!! It is very wise to contact the police for a record of her act of stupidity.
