| Petland!!!! Ok so me and DH decided to go to Petland to look at the toys and accessories. So of course we had to look at the cute sad puppies, it breaks my heart. Well DH just had to ask questions about a yorkie that was there. She was between 12-14 weeks I'd guess, but she was every bit of at least 5 lbs already. She was adorable. Anyways he starts asking who is she registered with, she checked and came back with CKC, he said ok how much is she, she came back and said she's 40% off so she is now $1200, both our jaws dropped, I mean I knew they charged like that but $1200 after the 40% off. She saw our reaction and said well what would you be willing to pay, we can work with you on the price. Well DH said there is no way you would come down to what I would pay for her. and she started her whole speal and started being a little rude and was copping an attitude and was saying how they come with the garantee and 2 free vet visits and blah blah and that's worth the $1200. And he was like if I went to a breeder I would get the health gaurantee, and be AKC. Then he had to go and say, I don't think I'd buy from here anyways. She asked why and he said the fact that your puppies come from puppymills is enough to turn me away. Then she said they do not, they come from breeders. All that stuff is just a rumor. And at this point the girl was getting extremely rude (my DH is just smiling, and i'm casually walking in the other isle to laugh) Well then he asked for the breeders name of that Yorkie, she went in the back and we waited about 15 minutes, well finally one of the managers came out and he actually gave him a name (althought I don't believe him) he gave the name John Jameson from Indiana. Well that guy started being rude with my DH telling him he can't believe that my DH would believe that crap and that he needed to be smarter and go and research the background on Petland before he comes in there and blah blah. My DH was telling him that he did do research, plenty of it and asked him do you even know what Petland does, do you not know about all the lawsuits, well the guy basically stuttered from there on and we walked out laughing and having the last word. Needless to say I didn't buy anything lol. I just thought everyone would get a kick out of this, I know I did.

| I go into Petland, but I never buy anything. I feel so sad for those puppies... especially their mommies! It just disgusts me. I always am thinking the things your hubby said, but I never say them outloud I wish they would change... or just stop selling dogs!

| the last time I went into a petland I started asking ?'s like where they get there puppies from and I was told they get then from 2 yes 2 breeders one in ohio and one in Indiana and she went to say they are not caged that they are all kept indoors and are socialized with the breeders children and so me being the smart azz I am i started counting the different breeds about 20 at that point and I said WOW 2 breeders huh they must have lots of dogs inside there house and walked away. And all along I had seen the new pups with a puppy brokers name on their collars that supply at least 2 of the petlands around here. it's so sad. |

| The Petland here in New York does not carry puppies, thank goodness! I like going in there to buy things for my baby, since its a few dollars cheaper than petco. If they had puppies here, I would probably be crying every time I'm in there. |

| It is very sad seeing them in there. The maintenance manager for my townhouse went up there one day and came home with a free puppy from there because it was sick and they were going to send it back to the "breeder" (puppymill) you know it would have been killed. Petland did pay for the vet thank goodness (so at least they did something right for once) but the puppy is now healthy and full of life and oh so cute, he's a little chi (don't know how to spell it out lol, so I won't try)

| We don't have PetLand here, but I never even visit stores that sell puppies. It's so sad. I support the pet stores that don't support puppy mills. |
