| Awww she's adorable. Jamie had a first birthday fiesta last year! We didn't know any other small dogs yet so we had our family over and made fajitas. Jamie got some sauteed chicken (minus any spices). I decorated the house and got plastic plates and cups in fun colors. I also made peanut butter pupcakes with plain cream cheese as icing. And our human guests got chocolate cupcakes with storebought creamcheese icing. Everyone got vanilla ice cream including a small cup for Jamie. He got tons of presents and I put them all in bags so that he could open them hisself. He had such a blast with all those people there to just fawn over him.

| For Hot Rod's 1st b-day we had a bbq with friends and neighbors. The neighborhood dogs were invited too but since most of them are larger only Kenzie came (jack russell puppy). I did the "Cars" theme going with his name. lol Maggie May just had her first birthday and it was just hubby, me and Hot Rod. I made a sweet potato cupcake for her and she allowed Hot Rod a small nibble and gobbled up the rest herself.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Ahhh Happy First Barkday Miss Ruby! You are so cute. Here are some of my recipes that I used for Izzy. Have fun and don't forget the pics! You can make this healther by using EggBeaters or using whole wheat flour and not the Jiffy..but it's not like you give it to them every day!! Recipes for the pupcakes: Blueberry 1/2 cup high quality dry dog food kibble 1 7-ounce package JIffy Blueberry Muffin mix 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries 2 large eggs 2/3 cup evaporated lowfat milk Banana 1 large ripe banana, mashed 1/2 cup high-quality dry dog food kibble 1 7-ounce package JIffy Banana Nut Muffin mix 2 large eggs 2/3 cup evaporated lowfat milk 1. Preheat oven to 350 2. put dog food kibble in a food processor/blender and grind to a coarse flour. Measure 1/2 cup after grinding. *for banana, mash with fork 3. Combine ground dog food kibble and remaining ingredients until well mixed. Batter should be slightly grainy. 4. Grease or line muffin cups with paper baking cups. Pour batter into cups, filling each 1/2 to 2/3 full. 5. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. 6. Remove from oven, allow to cool thoroughly, store in airtight container. 7. Frost with a thin layer of whipped cream cheese. 8. To decorate, for blueberry - press a blueberry into cream cheese, for banana add a pinch of ground dog food to top.

| My Bently just celebrated his 1st birthday and I threw him a birthday party at a doggy daycare center in Denver. We had about 30 Yorkies there. He gave each one of them a doggy swag bag with doggy biscuits in each one. One of the Denveryorkies.com members baked him a birthday cake and I feed all the dogs from it so there wouldn't be any fights over the cake. Have fun, take lots of pictures and remember to have fun.......... |
