| rude groomer!!!!! well, bailee needs a haircut so i have been looking around and calling several places. I have been asking for a price quote and if I am allowed to stay with her.I am not leaving my baby after all the horror stories I have heard. Well one of my calls was Barbara's Dog Grooming (in Greenville NC). I told her I had a yorkie I wanted groomed and had a few questions. I said first of all, am I allowed to stay...this is her repsonse: "thats easy,NO! Im not gonna have an unfamiliar person around my dogs and make them act up." This may not sound too rude but the tone was terrible. I was beyond furious how she had just spoken to me. My bf said, that didnt sound too mean so he decided to call and see for himself. So he made up a lil fib He called and said he had a 6 month old pup needing a cut. She asked what kind and he said gold retriever He isnt familiar with them and neither am I so maybe it did sound ridiculous to request that, i dont know. But she proceeded to laugh really loudly and say how she had does goldens all the time and there is not way he was knotted up that young...maybe this is true but she was just so unproffesional, her tone of voice was like we were dumb as rocks!

| A fellow NC'er! Hello! She sounds just awful! That was really rude and unprofessional of her! I would have been mad as well! Hopefully you will be able to find a good groomer... I just take little Baxter to Petsmart. The one by my apartment is nice (I think.), and the lady who grooms Baxter is so nice! I really like her! Anyways, good luck!

| If you don't like her tone on the phone, I would move right along. If you aren't feeling the person don't settle!

I use petco and because there are windows you can look in and see them the whole time. They are about the same price as petsmart, 45-50. Its a lot because to keep mandie short for the summer it has to be done like every 2 months..! But they do a good job!!

| Im also in NC, raleigh-- and have used petsmart once, his only "groom" it was only 16 since hes a puppy still (until 6mo they do that). I watched everything but the actual bath part. Im not sure what Ill do when he gets bigger/more hair. I started calling mobile groomer and wasnt thrilled with any of them thus far, price wise, etc.

| I don't understand how you being there when she is working on YOUR dog will affect the others dogs she have? Was she planning on doing them all together? lol After some bad experience with groomers, I would now try one only is someone I trust recommend it to me. |

| Oh I wish you lived in my area I would recommend my groomer in a heartbeat!! She's great.. Mitzy gets scared really easy so I asked if she could ONLY crate her when absolutly necessary. I bring Mitzys own crate as well as her blanket and a chewie. She lets Mitzy run around the back of the shop when shes not to busy. She has little areas set up. One area for the customers, one for the dogs to run around and the back where she bathes then her section where she grooms. And her grooming area is connected to the dogs area so she can watch. Shes the best groomer I've ever had. I used to go to Petsmart and they did a great job I just hated that she was being confined when they wernt working on her.. Don't give up you'll find that perfect groomer!!

| I have 2 groomers I use, I have never asked to stay, because I know from me trying to work on my own dogs, they're like kids, they're never as good for you as they are someone else. I know if I was there, my dogs would be freaking out, and the groomer would have a heck of a time with them. I was using one groomer, I really liked her, but, I told her NOT to put the collar around my little ones, she's only 2 lbs and I didn't want her ending up having problems with her trachea. Well, she groomed my little one just one time, and now, I'm having problems with her trachea. Took her to my old groomer(my next door neighbor) told her not to put the collar around her neck, she said we never do on litttle ones, so, that's who I'm staying with She did sound rude, but, if I were a groomer, I think I would have a problem with the owner being there |
