| Yorkie in a convertable? I am thinking of buying a two seat convertable. I am extremely concerned however for how Stewie will do in it and how safe it would be for him. I don't have any experience with doggy car seats. Will it keep him in place and not flying out of the car? Is that a silly question? haha Currently, he sits on my lap when I drive...all 14 pounds of him. I know its not safe and I should have a car seat anyway... Does anyone have experience with this? Also, how long did it take for your Yorkie to "accept" the car seat. Stewie is kind of set in his ways. Thanks! |

| If I were you , I would go out and buy a dog harness ASAP. You can get one at Petsmart, or Petco. They attatch to the seatbelt, and look a lot safer then the booster seats. As for a Convertable, I have no experience with these cars at all. Saftey is the #1 most important thing though.

| I have a roadster.. a BMW z4 and Maddy was a little skiddish at first. In a roadster you hear everything that you wouldn't in a typical car... road sounds, wind etc. Maddy seems okay with it now, but she loves my hubby's comfy Audi A6 much better! What car are you considering getting? |

| Of course an enclosed carseat or a harness is always safer, but I admit that too ride around with Silvia in my lap. My father has a BMW Z4 and when we tried to ride with Silvia in it, she would whine and try to dig into the seats to get away from the wind noise. I would suggest either riding with your pup in a friend's convertible first or on a test ride of the car you're wanting. That way, you know what the reaction will be before you make a decision.

| Thanks for the advice! We just moved back to the city and if I have my window open, the noises definately frighten him. I am sure it will be 20 fold in a convertable. I am looking at the Solstice. I am thinking I can get a steal in this market. Good call on bringing him in another convertable first! |

| Maybe top up only when I have him in the car with me? I guess I'll see how he does and take it from there! |

| I have a Sebring Convertible and my Yorkies love it. I keep their car seat in the front seat next to me and I have them harnessed in. I do keep the windows up though just as a precaution. I think you Yorkie will enjoy it. Mine can't wait to go for a drive. Elaine |

| By the way I'm jealous. I love the Solstice but I have two kids so had to go for a four seater with a big trunk (for baseball bags) Oh and another nice one to look at is the Chrystler two seater. It's made by Mercedes and is really nice and not too expensive. Elaine |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | My boy must sit in his seat when I am going down the road. If you have to stop instantly these little guys will go flying.. I don't think I would ever take mine in a convertable unless he was strapped in tightly....LOL |
