| Katrina Disaster Relief-rubber bracelets for YT? First off, I hope all of you at yt who are in or know people who are in the parts of our country that are affected by the aftermath of Katrina are well. I have been looking to donate some of my old clothes, blankets, etc but everyone seems to want only money at this time. But I did find that the Salvation Army's website gives a good breakdown of what your money will go to. I hope that everyone will consider giving something for these victims. Imagine if your house caught fire right now and you had precious little time to decide what to take with you or lose it forever. What you'd have to walk away from. That's what these people were faced with. http://www.redshield.org/crisis/ Maybe we could donate as a group on behalf of our website. There was talk of wanting yorkie talk rubber bracelets in a recent thread. Maybe we could get ones made for ourselves that say "yorkietalk supports disaster relief" or "my pet and i support disaster relief" or something. We could sell them to our friends, ebay them etc, and send profits along with our unwanted animal care items to disaster relief. If anyone is interested it the bracelets, let me know and I will figure out what we can do, only someone more clever than me is going to have to come up with what the bracelets say hah. |

| http://www.fundraiserfun.com/ thought that the prices were fair on these. Let me know what you think or if I am going nuts trying to do this. I'lll need a yes or no from people about wanting to buy some for themselves and maybe sell some on their websites and to friends too so I can get a goog idea on if we are even going to have enough demand to get a mass batch created and money made off them too. Hmm, you can SO tell by my super paranoid planning right now that I am a sorority girl |

Administrator | Jennifeliz14: THANK YOU very much for doing the research and finding out where to get rubber bracelets for us. This is a wonderful idea. Due to legal reasons, we need to handle anything that involves the YorkieTalk name. We would be happy to make some special bracelets for the Hurricane Relief Fund (of our member's choosing) and donate all proceeds (minus initial costs of the bracelet) to the Hurricane Relief Fund. We will be creating a new thread soon with details. We just do not want to end up with a lot of people saying they will buy bracelets (this has happened with other things in the past), but ending up with a lot of bracelets on hand and unsold. Thanks. |
