| "modified silky" Hi, I have two yorkies. Both are CKC registered, but one was rescued by my really great breeder from "less than ethical" breeder (although her website says all of the "right" things. I have done tons of research on yorkies and found that there where two types of coats: Silky and soft/cottony. However, my Prissy, the one that was rescued, has what my breeder describes as a "modified silky coat". Does anybody know what that means? |

| Is it particularyly common? Hypothetically, could they ever be shown/ would their hair ever grow long enogh or would it break like a cotton coat? Prissy's hair grows soooo quickly and mats so easily!!! |

| It can still grow long. I think My Jewels is a modified. Her coat is thin like a silk and lays down flat like a silk but matts like a cotton. Not all cotton coats break off at least neither of mine do and Chachi is a cotton coat
