| Help! Need a quick answer! Okay so my cousin who lives with me just found a stray puppy at her work and has decided to keep it. My two yorkies are only 18 weeks. They have had all of there shots, but I'm still nervous to bring in this dog. She plans to bring it home tonight...in about 2 hours. Should I say no??? I personally believe she should bring the puppy to the nearest animal control in case it is someones. Please help and give me any info you can.

| I think she should bring it too animal control if it's a no kill shelter. It might be microchipped to aid in owner ID.

| Have your Yorkies completed all their shots plus two weeks for full immunity? Even if they have, a stray puppy can bring kennel cough, fleas, worms and other things into your home that can be passed onto your dogs. Even fully vaccinated puppies can still get parvo. Will she pay all your vet bills if your Yorkies get sick? She should keep the puppy in isolation away from your dogs until tomorrow when she can take it to the vet. She doesn't have to take the puppy to Animal Control, but she must try to find the owner. She should have the vet check for a microchip, put up flyers, and read lost and found ads. This puppy may belong to a heartbroken family that is desperately searching for it. |

| I would take the pup to the vet...or even animal control to see if it is microchipped but most vets do that...does the pup look like it belongs to someone?? You dont want to get your furbabies sick, I wouldnt bring the new pup around your babies.

| Just got word that she will take it to the vet prior to bringing home. My babies do have shots plus 2 weeks to build immunity, and they've gotten the vaccine for kennel cough. But thanks for bringing up the other issues like worms and fleas...yuck! My Murphy had worms and fleas already and I do not want to go through that again! I feel bad she is not seeking out the owners. I suggested she do this but she seems like she will not be doing this. I'm at a loss with what to tell her. Maybe I should put up an ad for the puppy

Is the puppy a yorkie?? What is it? Just make sure until you see how healthy the dog is and the report on the dog from the vet not to let your babies around the puppy, its not worth getting your babies sick, or fleas, worms, kennel cough, giardia, coccidia, parvo....etc esp not knowing how long the pup has been outside... Thats hard I dont even know what I would do, I know I would try to find the home, but in your postion....until peanut was tottaly 100% done with his vaccines and waited for it all to clear he didnt step a paw outside!! It wasnt worth it for me

| Puppies are cute, but they grow into adults quickly. Is she ready to care for an adult dog that may be small or medium or large or very very large, & may be ??
