| Do You Think he will stay Black and Tan? Gucci is 4 months, I don't know if that is too young to tell but I was wondering if his color will ever break and What type of coat does he seem to have? I was kind of hoping at least his head would be silver but I see mostly tan and black ... It doesn't matter really I love the lil stinker so much .. I am just curious as to what I have to look forward to. I am confused, I have read and read and he seems to have Both -Eyes are Green/Blue and Amber/Brown in photos -Head seems Silky and is breaking a wee bit in super light tan and some silver -Body doesn't mat but LEGS AND ARMS DO - Coat on the body is soft and fluffy but a little duller than his head and not as fine as his head. - Head and Body are Both FLUFFY and THICK My husband is rooting for him to stay just as he is ** I tried to post different angles so you can get an idea what his coat is like and see the breaking on the head. ** EXCUSE OUR CAN lol he was licking it that was how I got him to stay still |

| Gucci is a cutie! He looks and sounds like a cotton coat to me. If he's only 4 months old - he could lighten up some... but I doubt that he'll get the silver coloring. Just my opinion. He sure looks loved!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | You really should start to see some color changes coming on. Not sure just what colors will come out but my pups all really started some changes at the five month mark. What colors are his parents? That tends to give you an idea of what is to come.

| What a cuttie. I think his head looks like its turning a bit silver. They will change for up to 2 years. You really dont know what you are getting with a Yorkie. Thats the fun part....Manolo stayed black and gold but Lola is silver and brown. Their baby Pablo is 19 weeks and is black and brown so far. Gucci is a very good looking Yorkie.... |

Bizzymammabee - He is starting to break a bit silver/light tan on his head but that's it so far and it has taken him quite a while for those bits to show (it started at 10 weeks) 6 weeks later this is what we have. His dad was regular yorkie colors his mom is black and tan with some silver on her head so that's what made me think he may stay that color. Manolosmom - His head is breaking a wee-bit it has just been a lengthy and slow process to get the little bit it has. I guess it's a surprise for most of these guys.. I was just wondering if someone maybe knew what type of coat he was and if they maybe had a yorkie like him at his age and could give some insight on color. Quote:

| Wow he is absolutely adorable. You might get something in between a cotton and silk coat, you never know. Loki is definitely in between - my groomer calls it a soft coat. Also, if he is thick he will look adorable in a puppy cut so if it does mat and you do need to keep him short those thick fluffy coats look awesome cut down short. The silkier thinner coats can look scrawny like that. I know everyone loves the long Yorkie coat but I think puppy cuts are great for clothes and you don't have to brush them every day (just faces) and snow doesn't get stuck to their fur and they blow dry in like 5 minutes Sammy is almost 3 and she is still black with a cottony coat (I just love her coloring!) Loki is 4 and he was black as could be as a puppy and now he is much lighter - silvery and light gold. I wouldn't worry about it. When he gets his first major haircut you will be able to tell if it's changing.

| Hi Adrianna! I think Gucci is still too young to know for sure...he's only 4 months old. I would give it another 2-3 months to start seeing some true color changes. Right now, his coloring is like other 4 month Yorkies. Take a look at my Isabeau's pictures (she is around the same age of your adorable Gucci....she was born on Aug. 30th). http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...dec.30-08b.jpg http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...dec.30-08h.jpg I think Gucci is sooooooo cute!!! I think I tend to get ahead of myself lol.. I see so many yorkies younger than him that are breaking so much more I get anxious . Thanks for reminding me I HAVE TIME haha I sometimes forget he's going to change SO MUCH more. I just adore Isabeau and it's partly because she reminds me sooo much of Gucci in coloring/structure and coat.. the other part is well.. she's just adorable in her own right | |

| Zaccheus has a cotton coat, and is still quite black and brown. His head has lightened into a dark brown, where it used to be very black. He is seven months old, so I don't expect much more change. But I love his color, so I'm okay with it.
