| What is your yorkie's favorite training treat? When I went to a dog show yesterday handlers had big treats on their hands and have their yorkies to bite tiny bit. What kind of treats do you guys use to train your dogs?

| I had a hard time finding treats Teddy would like when he was little. I used my terrier mix's dog food because he would steal pieces of it and go hide to eat it. Now I use cut up pieces of carrot and Cheerios! Carrots are his fav!

| I use Yorkie Yummies. My little guy is pretty picky but he loves Yorkie Yummies. They are small and healthy. You can buy them here: FoxyPups - Yorkie Yummies - Yorkie treats |

| I'd have to say Mahina goes CRAZY (and my cat lol) over Zukes Jerky Naturals (Lamb). They are big pieces so I have to break them into smaller ones. And she really likes cherrios.

| Rosie's favorites are Wellness Bites (she pretty much bites my fingers off to eat these) and the meaty buddy buscuits. I cut them into really small pieces before training. We sometimes use the smaller bil jacs. Anything meaty and smelly usually works best for us |

| Tatum trains really well with Cheerios! But when we were at doggy school, the trainer told us to pick a treat that is not something they would usually have so that they'd be very eager to please for it. One of the things she suggested was cooking a hamburger patty and patting (an squeezing) as much grease off of it as you could and then tearing it into really tiny pieces. That worked really well for us.

| Lexi didn't go for the cheerios. I tried other, natural, types of treats, but she didn't go for them. I didn't like to use them, but I was breaking Snausages into very small pieces. Then, I ordered some things from Cindy (chattiesmom), including both types of Yorkie Yummies. I got the big bags, and thankfully, Lexi LOVES them! They are the perfect size too, so I never feel like I am "overtreating" her. The others were sometimes hard to get into small enough pieces. She also loves cheese, although that's a very occasional treat. |

| We use a couple of things. 1. Cheerios (they tell me they have to lower their cholesterol so I have to give them some). 2. Tasty Treats - from Trilogy. THey are made with vennison. My pups LOVE them and do well with their training with them. They are small but I still break them in 1/3rd for treats.
