| Decisions Decisions...LitterTrain vs Dog Door I've housetrained and crate trained 2 cockers and 2 pitbulls. I would say of the 4 dogs I've trained the pitbulls were easiest. I have yet to get our yorkie but see that they are hard to potty train. I'm looking for an older dog, so I'm hoping not to run into a major issue there. But here's my thing...When we are not home, I've never allowed any of our dogs free roam of the house, maybe just confined to "their room" or the upstairs sectioned off. The original plan for the Yorkie was that they'd have their "own area" in the family/kitchen area using an ex-pen with the use of a doggie litter pan. But I started to think that I could use a dog-door that leads to the garage and have the litter pan there and the dog could have roam over the entire down stairs. i'm just trying to bounce my ideas off someone, soooo please help out. |

| I would just not use a doggy door that leads to the outside. Too many things could happen to a tiny yorkie. I have one who prefers the potty pads and one that prefers the outside. They are both puppies. I had hoped they would learn to do both. We are working on that. |
