| Chewing - Age or simple activity related? Our Addison has decided he LOVES to chew, a LOT. Toys, a sock toy I made from the instructions i found for a homemade one on YT. Paper-of any kind - any where. A couple questions: We rescued him-was told approx one year old. Does his aggressive adoration of chewing suggest closer to a year than say 1 1/2-2 yrs? I worry about him ingesting a foreign object so we have done what we have done with all of our past additions. (granted much larger dogs but he seems to be no different) a box of ALL chew items that are OK to chew. Whenever he chews something inappropriate I say a stern no and grab a toy from his OK box. There is a box in every room, to date to furniture chewed ect. Thank goodness. My question: any way to tell his age through his chewing behaviors? We have decided his birthday will be OCt 17 the day we adopted but I feel this must be pretty close to accurate due to his chewing activity? Any opinion on this? I know they chew-many times there entire life. But I just wondered if this no-preference aggressive chewing may help determine his age. How long did your babies chew anything and everything? Once again-thanks again for the information!

| I have some that like to chew and some that don't, age does not seem to make a difference once they are done teething. However once they are through they teething stage, they only chew appropriate things. I have one that will rip the squeaker out of every squeak toy. |

| Gus is 1 year old. He's was a fanatical chewer. However, during the couple of weeks, although he still chews, it seems to be lessening. Still can't trust him out of my sight for more than a few minutes. I'd guess Addison is close to a year old.
