Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would ask your vet to make sure she's ok. Mine are all very vocal.

| What age was she when you got her? If it was just recently, I would have the vet check to make sure she hasn't been debarked.. |

| Ask your vet. My girl yorkie didnt make a sound until she was about 1 year old. Very shy and quiet. You should see her now. She is an agility dog all the way . She like to bark and chase this pesky squirrel in my trees. |

| Hot Rod was never a vocal dog until recently. He is 14 mos old. When we ask him to speak, it takes at least 3/4 trys before it even remotely sounds like a bark.

| hi, My dog didnt bark until 14 months. And he did seem to do what might seem to have been attempts, so like the others posted...that is a possibility. Now if anything moves outside.....COVER YOUR EARS>>>> cause he is a great guard dog....scary scary dog.

I tried to get Hot Rod to speak again tonight and it took something like 10 tries and still it was a very low woof. It's funny, when I give him the hand signal for speak, he sniffles and sneezes before speaking! I started to give him a word for sneeze tonight so maybe that can be another trick.

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Lily is a sweetheart! I would, as others advise, have her checked to make sure she has not been debarked (a cruel practice ). My Abigail is coming up on her third birthday; but I remember being similarly concerned that she was not the "yappy yorkie" puppy I'd expected. I don't remember how old she was before she found her voice - but, she sure knows how to use it, now!
