| I think that would be sooo cool! I know of a few cat forums but they are very slow. I don't know of any bunny forums. I love rabbits; I used to have Holland lops and would love another. I think rabbit shows are awesome too. |

| thank you so much for the links. i haven't seen the pet talk one, but i have actually seen the paw-talk one as well. i guess yorkietalk is really unique site in that it's very breed specific and also it has A LOT of traffic. i am curious as to why that is? does it mean that yorkie owners are different from most pet owners? or are there other breed specific sites that are just as popular?

| well, actually, i believe bunny is the third most popular pet in the US. (i could be wrong of course) but i remember seeing somewhere that said that dogs, then cats, then bunnies were the most common pets in the US.

Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | That's a GREAT idea! As a new kitty mommy who has never owned cats before, I would DEFINITELY enjoy a kitten forum--especially since mine are orphans and need lots of extra special care. |

i didn't take that into consideration. i thought people just liked rabbits, that's why they were a common pet...i didn't know people give them as 'gifts'...i mean, i knew but i hope it's not a common thing...

| I don't think giving them as easter presents is as common as it used to be. That may just be my wishful thinking though. I think rabbits make great apartment pets. They are also great for people who work long hours. They are quite, small, can be litter boxed trained and kept in a cage when you're gone. They aren't as needy as dogs, but easier to keep confined then a cat. Rabbit shows are a lot of fun and don't have the politics that go on at dog shows. I would recommend anyone interested in getting a rabbit go to a shelter or breeder. In my experience pet shop bunnies tend to be unhealthy. Respiratory infections are very common in pet store rabbits and contagious. Last edited by Harley_chik; 11-08-2008 at 11:31 AM. |
