| hey everyone hey everyone .. dunno if you remember me or not but i was here about a month ago about getting a yorkie then decieded not to because of my kids.. well i just thought i'd let you all know that i did end up getting a puppy but she's a maltipoo and is going to get bigger than a yorkie. the breeder said she would get to be a little over 6 lbs but i honestly think she's going to be the size of a small shih tzu or a breed like that. she right now weights 2.something lbs at 8 weeks so we'll see. Her and the boys are doing awesome they are real gentle with her but when they do get a little rough she sure does know how to defend herself. Right now we're working through the stage of biting on EVERYTHING.. anyone have any advice for that.. i read that i should let out a bark like the mother dog does but i feel so silly barking at her lol. Well i hope everyone and their yorkies are doing great.. Courtney |

| Barks and stern NO!, whatever works in my opinion. Now is the time to get them to stop biting. Do you have anything for her to chew on? If she's at a point where she is teething, she may feel the need to bite or gnaw away... |

| Hi. I noticed in your post that you mentioned your Maltipoo is "knowing how to defend herself". I find myself asking why? Are maybe your kids being too rough with the new pup that she feels threatened?? Why is she trying to defend herself?? I am in no way giving your puppy an "ok" to bite and as fasteddie said, a firm no and doggie barks is great advise. Being 2 pounds is no match to little kids, it can be very threatening to a little doggie. Good luck.

| you can buy bitter apple spray at petsmart. It works well for most, but I have heard a few people say it didn't stop their dogs from chewing.
