| drags back legs I couldn't find a pekingese forum.. so I figured the problem I have would probably apply to any dog breed. Someone my aunt worked with was going to have this pekingese put to sleep cause she drags her back legs. So my aunt took her and gave her to me. It doesn't seem like it causes her any pain.. she still plays and deals with it. The woman doesn't know whats wrong with her legs, I guess she never took her to the vet. I would like to take her soon and find out if it can be fixed but right now I still owe a bill for another dog I took in. Does anyone have any information on what could be wrong with her until then.. and if it would be an expensive problem to fix? She kindof walks like a seal. |

| Awwww - poor precious baby. Im not real familiar with this sorta problem so hopefully other members can shed some light regarding this. Maybe some searches on web might give info also. Gosh, Id feel horrible to see my Schatzie this way and would have to carry her wherever she needed to go. I've also seen in the back of pet magazines stroller type carts with wheels that attach to paralyzed dogs to ease in their mobility.

| It could be some kind of nerve damage. I have seen dogs on wheelchairs. It is like a harness with wheels. I kinda reminds you of a wheel barrow. The legs rest on the top. It's really kinda neat. The vet will be able to help.

| My mother had a Cocker Spaniel that did the same thing. It turned out to be nerve damage from the spinal cord. She had her operated on and everything worked out fine. |

| It was back in the mid 90's and I called mom and she said it was $300.00. So I would have to say yes. She also had to keep her Cocker in a small kennel for a week so she wouldn't move. Hope this helps. |

| It could be something as simple as a tick disease that causes partial paralysis, it certainly is worth checking out. Good for you for taking her in. They are the most devoted little dogs |

| Well, I guess she was like this since the day she was born.. the lady said the rest of the litter was fine, and was going to have her put to sleep. Well, 300.00 isn't that much compared to what I was worried it might be.. 300.00 is doable. |
