Almost lost baby ceasar last night.... This is so unbelievable. I can't believe that I am writing this.... Last night at 9:15 pm, I heard little Ceasar choking. I called my husband and we both ran to him. My husband picked him up and started trying to see what he had in his mouth. Couldn't see anything and I said get your finger down there and check it out. Which he did right away. Ceasar was laboring terribly. His breathing was going FAST. Hubby did mouth to mouth and the heimlich maneuver etc......... we were in a panic. I was calling our emergency vet to let them know we were on our way !!!! We drove at breakneck speed what normally could be a 35 minute drive and did it in about 17 or 18 minutes. It felt like FOREVER. The nurse met us at the door and grabbed Ceasar from us. Took him down the hallway and was back out with him in a couple of minutes. She said they checked his esophagus and said that it was clear. His vitals were ok and his gums were nice and pink. Whatever was lodged either came out or went down. BY THE WAY: WE FOUND A SMALL PIECE OF CHICKEN BONE in the hallway just before we were leaving. Ceasar just went down the hallway as we were slipping into our shoes. We sat in the clinic so that they could monitor him for a while and the nurse said they could xray if we wanted. That would have been $ 400.00 plus and she said it wasn't very likely they would DO much of anything seeing as his vitals etc were fine. So we decided to bring him home and watch over him. He was EXHAUSTED to say the least. We cuddled in bed and I listened to his breathing. I managed to drift off at some point only to be woken up a 5:00 as Ceasar was jumping off of the bed to go use his pee pee pad. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW . He had a POOP this morning. It wasn't as big as usual BUT it was something. THANK GOD ABOVE. He is eating some tinned mush that I picked up on the way home last night. He lapped a little yogurt for me and has drank a wee bit. The little fella is right at my feet as I sit here typing. Oh, how could I forget. HE KISSED ME this morning after he ate something and that was just the ticked I NEEDED. He hadn't kissed me since before this whole thing happened. WHERE that bone came from is BEYOND me but PLEASE everyone take extra care with bones of ANY kind. I NEVER thought this would happen to US. We are so very vigilant about what lies around for our fur babies to "FIND". YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, what a SCARE and a half. I am so thankful. Of course Ceasar will NOT be left alone. He is on SUPER DUPER watch for the next few days or so. I have to see EVERYTHING that comes out of that little baby. Oh, I drove our daughter in to school and Ceasar came to GREET ME at the door with tail wagging. I wasn't expecting that. PRAISE GOD !!!!! HALLELUJAH !!!!! THANK YOU to anyone who reads my story and PLEASE send prayers up that he passes HEALTHY poops for us. I will update for everyone SOON !!!!!

I am always so careful with bones, because I have read horror stories, but just sometimes, we forget the little ones are around and have the ability to grab the things we try to hide from them. You did the right thing from start to finish and Ceasar is very lucky to have a mommy and daddy who care so much! I'll keep him in my prayers!

| I'm so happy.... I am so happy to know that he is doing so well. And you too! That must have been awful for you. I just can't imagine. One of our puppies is a little thief, she stole a razor of the side of the tub our oldest daughter left out and she was chewing on it, but she didn't get cut, thank goodness! Then she stole a small pencil sharpener the size of a half dollar from my 7 yr old. She had it in her paws and was chewing on it. Well one of her nails got stuck all the way down past the quick and was bleeding. We heard this clinking and clanking and she was trying to walk over to us. It was just dangling there. It was so sad! We cleaned her all up and put a little pink bandage on it. My 8 yr old daughter is at the age where she has been hiding snack wrappers behind stuff, in things, etc., and we had to have "the talk." Poor Alexis, she is the first one I usually ask when the puppies pick up with something, Peaches has stolen A LOT of stuff from her Barbie house too. Alexis' answer is "maybe if you bought her her own Barbie house, she wouldn't steal mine. Are you gonna put handcuffs on her and take Peaches to jail for stealing." Let us know if you find out how he got it. Can he reach your kitchen trash? Mine are too short but I bought a large can that you have to step on the lid. We did that for our bathroom trash also. It cut down on all of the trash stealing.

I LOVE YOU ALL DEARLY. Thanks for not jumping all over me and making me feel even WORSE. I really have no idea how our little baby got that bone but I will say that my family will be lucky if they get their turkey this coming Monday for Thanksgiving. I just can't look at chicken OR turkey. Ceasar is peacefully lying in his favorite patch of sunlight by the front door. Taylor (his Mommy), Ceasar and I went for our daily walk and he LOVED the Autumn leaves and fresh sunshine/fresh air. I am sooooooooooooooooo RELIEVED but haven't lost the fright of last night YET !!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL. YORKIE TALK DEFINITELY RULES AND I AM SO PLEASED TO HAVE YOU GUYS TO LEAN ON/CONFIDE IN. Hugs to all.

Oh my gosh, what a scare. They would have had to lay me out by the time we got to the vets. These little warts are into everything and they are so fast. Kayla eat 1/2 a sugarless cookie my husband dropped night before last. I almost died. Anything sugarless is suppose to be toxic to them I believe. Bless your heart, I hope you and your baby are okay. They can just nearly give you a heartattack.
