| Taping I use a paper tape that you would use with gauze. This helps not to pull the hair on the ears when you remove it although I shave the ears first. With some yorkies it is a never ending battle while they are teething. You can also use a product that is over the counter for corns and that is placed on the inside of the ear. I don't remember the name of it. But I feel sure you could find it at any stores that have health and beauty product.

| How old is Kayko? We had a female chihuahua and it took her about 6 months for her ears to stay up. She was a smooth coat though and didn't have any hair weighing them down. It looks like Austin has some hair on his ears (is he a long coat?) so he might need some help. |

| First, take a "tampon" and cut off the string, then place it inside the ear and carefully use tape around to hold it in place. It works like a "splint" - Looks funny - but it works!!!! |

| Another idea I got from abreeder-- works great..cut a brown paper bag cut out in the shape of the ear, but a little smaller than the true dimension.. get fake eyelash glue- .. use several dots of glue , along the edge of the cut out, and press the template to the back side or inside of the ear. ( I did the back side).. leave on for about a week. It really works great, and the bag cut out comes off easily-- no tape to use.

| I just shaved Heidi's ears when she was 8 weeks old and they stood up in two days! Have you tried shaving the ears? Removing the hair gets rid of the weight. I just went to Kmart and bought one of those things that is supposed to be for shaving your bikini line, haha. But it worked! |

I am having the exact same problem, Desi's ears were down (she's 8 months) but now one is completely up but the other is completely down. But, I'm thinking that if one went up then the other may have a chance. So glad you posted this, I am going to be watching closely. | |

| I used the Shooters website directions and it worked for Chloe. Only leave tape on one week though. Interestingly, when I was thinking about getting a yorkie I was walking one day and saw the cutest one walking with her owner. I asked about her and noticed both her ears were down. The lady told me one time when she was walking her dog, she went too far and her yorkie got very hot, the ears drooped then and never came up. Chloe is now one year old and last week I took her for a ride. Stupidly I did not turn the a/c on in my car beforehand and she got overheated. One of her ears drooped and is still down. So, if anyone is having very hot weather, be careful, it could affect the ears or these are strange coincidences. |
