| First of all, Welcome to YT!! and congratulations on your new little precious Yorkie boy He is still young. Remember, that he is in a whole new world. He was taken from everything he knew up to this point (littermates and momma) and he has to learn that you are his forever mommy! Once he gets it that you will always come back to him, things will settle down. Give it a little time, when you leave in the morning don't make a big deal of it and don't say good bye or act guilty or any of that. Just leave out the door. He will settle down, it does get better, but be prepared to give it a few months. Another helpful tip is if you are working with commands and training, if you teach him to bark on command first, you can teach him no bark. But initially, expect that he will be missing you and not knowing what is going on when you leave him. It is a natural expression, it is all a part of puppyhood. Have you tried letting him sleep near your Fiance in a crate after you leave? If he is in the same room with your Fiance but confined and knows someone is there, it may help him adapt a little easier.

| The only time mine are quiet is when they're sleeping with them. Otherwise they bark everytime I walk through the door. I'm more concerned about the peeing and pooping right now. Mine are older and set in their ways. They're ruining my floors, and I'm at my wits end. Any suggestion.

| Well this gives me hope, though I hope it's not months before Canyon settles down. He's 14 weeks old on Monday, I've had him a week today and every morning when I leave, he's screaming and crying and when I come home he's screaming and crying. I hope by the end of this next week, he will know, Mommy goes bye bye and then Mommy comes home. It's heart breaking to think about that all day at work. I'm sure it's even harder for him and I hate that. |

| I just read the last part of your thread. Canyon screams during the day when I leave, etc...but at night when it's time to go to sleep, I put him in his small crate, only room for him and a bed in there and he never makes a sound. Maybe this would help to put your baby in a small crate after you know he's gone potty and put it on your bed next to your fiancee' and i'll bet the barking would stop. |
