| HELP!!! Yellow spots on lawn Hi everyone!!! Do you have any suggestion how to save my lawn? Wherever Chloe pees, the grass turns yellow and died. I would love to have a green healthy lawn.....Anything I can do to save my lawn and prevent it in the future? Is there anything (supplement) I can give to Chloe to solve the problem? Thanks!! |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | I don't know of any supplement....hosing down the area immediately after she goes will prevent it though.

I Love My Babies Donating Member | There is something you can get to treat your lawn. Zamzows carries it here. But I do not remember the name. Call your lawn and garden store and they will be able to help you. Goog luck.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Yes after she goes...the water dilutes the urine. Immediately flushing the area with a watering can will work.

| I'm not sure that the food supplements are healthy. Rinsing the area with water is the best solution or training her to go somewhere else in the yard without grass. My dogs actually prefer the gravel path. You can also build a sandbox. I looked up this problem once and it's caused by nitrogen in the urine, which is from the breakdown of protein during digestion. You can reduce the nitrogen content by reducing the protein content in the food. But I don't know if that's a good idea either. There are those who say that only active working dogs need high protein food, but I tend to disagree with that. By the way, it's a myth that only girl dogs cause spots on the lawn. It's just that girl dogs pee in on spot, concentrating the nitrogen content, whereas boy dogs pee in a stream spreading it out and less likely to make a spot. Generally I find that my dogs don't have enough pee by themselves to make a spot, but when one goes, the other has to pee on the same spot, then any guest dogs pee on it too. And I get spots. That's about all my knowledge of Yorkie pee

| Maybe you can get a patch of fake grass and train her to use just that area? A friend was telling me that fake grass is actually really great if you have pets because its easier to clean... don't really know the details, but it might be worth looking into. I'm not a big fan of fake grass, but she said there are different types- one of which actually looks like real grass. |

I Love My Babies Donating Member | Zamzow's is a lawn and garden store here in Idaho. If you contact your lawn and garden store where you live.. they may be able to give you some ideas on what to do to your grass to prevent the stains. Make sure it is safe for your babies. I like the idea of a sand box.. or the fake grass.... as long as you don't have cats around.

| I actually found, by giving my babies a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar does the trick, no more yellow grass
