| pee from joy May be somebody can advise what can be done about this problem. Not a huge problem but I'd like to solve it. When we come back home from work, or even when some guests coming over to our house - my Maggie is so over joyful that she always pee or made few drops, especially if we pet her. Is there a solution for that? It is hard to ignore her when I come home, but could it help? Please, advise. |

| Is she just a puppy? They generally outgrow it. The best thing to do is to wait a few minutes and then see her but be calm and don't talk to her in an excited voice. It's called submissive urination if you want to google it or research it. But like I said, puppies generally outgrow it thank goodness!

| I've found that if I don't use that really high pitched voice they don't get so excited when I come in. And also as they got older they were able to control it better and now...have pretty much stopped...leaking!

| Cesar Milan solved that problem with a "pink (dyed)" maltese. When the dog is extremely excited, don't look at them or pay any attention to them. Once they calm down, you can pet them. It usually happened when someone came in the door and the dog was over-excited. Once the dog learned they would only get attention once it was calm, the peeing stopped. |

| Ive been told they grow out of this. But like others sad... don't great them right away when you get home, wait until they have calmed down. I discovered yesterday, Mia is having her "pee from joy" on the corner of our couch where she can see us come home from the window. Wasn't too thrilled about that! Good luck.

| Mine peed too when I came into the house...Now, I walk in very slowly and talk very calmly like in slow motion, it's funny and don't make too much of a fuss....It works...Of course, we immediately go outside !! good luck

| Thanks everyone who response! My Maggie is 1 year old already and she didn't do that when she was puppy, she started doing this couple months ago. And it is so hard to ignore her when we came back home and she is so hyper from the joy. But I'll try to follow all the advices and see if that help. Thanks again! |
