| Puppy coat question. I read the sticky all about coats and colors. I have a few questions. 1. My puppy has thick cottony hair all over except for the head which is thinner and shiny. What type of coat would you predict? 2. Do you have to cut the black ends off later when the hair gets long, or will this just naturally go away?

| the coloring in their hair just grows out, and as you start grooming them the other coloring will get trimmed off. Thats the best way I can explain it, I'm sure someone else here can probably explain it a little better

| are you sure that the hair on the body is indeed cottony? does it have any sheen at all to it? maybe you are thinking it is cottony because it is short and maybe "fluffy"?? to answer your question, when pebbles was little i thought her body coat was cottony and her head was as you described--thin and shiny, but later on when her body hair grew out I saw that it was actually silky... the hair on her head thickened and now she is just silky all over. so id guess it will end up being silky |

| The tan on her legs seem to have a little sheen to them. I call the hair on her back cottony because when I brush her out it practically stands up and is very soft and feels like cotton. Then, without brushing it starts looking a little stringy and gets matted super easy. I cant tell if the silver growing in on her body under the black has any sheen to it at all.
