| Hi! I'm Gracie's Mom [F][/FONT]Hello! I've found this site a few times when googling a specific issue with my new fur-baby Gracie. We've had her 3 months now. She's 6 month old. Our first puppy. We have friends that have had Yorkies for many years, but we fell in love with there last puppy, Mia. We said we would get one when we retired. So, when I took an early retirement offer last November, our friends "helped" us find a puppy. (They also wanted another as company for Mia). Of course, by the time we picked her up, I had gone back to work. (Luckily, for my old company as a contractor, working virtual office.) Gracie had been a joy. It's great to experience unconditional love. With that comes the trauma of a first time Mom. Living through vaccinations, her first grooming, and then spaying last week! Whew! And this morning we woke up to diarrhea! After taking her to the vet (and 3 phone calls), she is on 2 medications for bacterial stuff she apparently picked up from eating bird poop or some such yucky stuff and a mild reaction to the stitches! With all that, I can't imagine life without her. Thanks to everyone that has posted helpful info on puppy stuff. Gracie's Mom |

| Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Gracie's feeling much better today. She really didn't like the shot they gave her in her back leg....but a 1/4 of a baby aspirin helped a lot. I still think she's a little pooped...not sure if it's the meds, the stress of the vet visit (and groomer this AM), or the germies. She does seem to like the i/d food the vet put her on. Easy to give her the pills in a "meatball". I haven't gotten to the page to post pictures yet, but I have lots I really do like this site....lots of good info. BTW...Gracie's got her tail and I love it! She also has 1 floppy ear at the moment....been that way for ~3-4 weeks. It stood up before that. Last night, when she was so antsy from the shot, it was standing too. Do you all think it will go back up on it's own?? Or never? Gracie's Mom |

| Hello and WELCOME Gracies Mom. I am a new member of YT and have found it a wonderful place full of helpful, kind people. I know you will LOVE it here. I sure hope little Gracie feels better SOON. Bless her. She certainly has been through a lot lately. BEST OF LUCK !!! Oh, our Yorkies have their tails as well. Our first one came with her tail and her brand new 2 week old (surprise puppy) is keeping his as well. LOL If you read up on ears you will find that if you shave the upper 1/3 of their little ears that really helps the ear to stand up. Hope that helps. Have a GREAT day !!!! Nice to meet you. |

The groomer trimmed them when she was about 4 mos old. One stood up right away, the other one took a day or two. They stood up for about 6 weeks then the one started to droop. She's been to the groomer 2x since then and the one still droops. I'm hoping it's the teething and it'll go back up. Gracie's mom | |
