| Introduction Hi, I am new to the forum. I got my little Yorkie boy last Firday. His name is Otto. He is 13 weeks old. Like everyone else whose post I have been reading potty training him is not easy. He will go poop oustide but pees in his crate. I don't know what to do. I've never had such a small dog before and never had this problem. Any one who has any help please let me know. Thanks and great to meet everyone, Joan[ |

| Hi! Welcome to YT. I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions. My best advice has been to use bells and teach them to ring them when they need to potty. I took them out after eating, after playing, after sleeping, etc. You pretty much have to take them out about every hour and not come in until they go. It takes patience without bounds to housebreak these "little darlings", but it is so worth it in the end.

| Welcome to YT. Well when mine were that age I took them out every hour to potty and have some play time too. Big praises when they potty outside. They were in an expen inside with water, toys and pee pad. So mine are trained on pads and outside. They prefer outside but when I can't take them to appointments or grocery shopping, they will use the pad if they need to go, but rarely do they have to go since they can hold themselves pretty long now. |

| Welcome to YT This is a great site to be , and participate in! It helps to put your new pup on a potty schedule. ALSo, you might want to think about using potty pads. Just until your little one can really get the idea of peeing outside too.
