| Pee pee'ing question Elvis is my first ever boy dog. He exclusively uses pee pads. Right now he squats like a little girl dog to pee. He is 5 months old. Will he ever lift his leg to pee? If so, when do they usually start this action? And do they lift their leg against something? See my concern? Elvis is scheduled to be neutered in June. Thanks ya'll.

| Hot Rod is almost 8 mos old and he tried one time to lift his leg but wasn't quite stable enough yet. He squats and from what I have read, I'm glad; I don't have to worry about him spraying all over the walls as I use a pee pad. So maybe look at it as a good thing?!

| Get him neutered now!! Loki got neutered at 6 months and never learned to lift. Life is so much easier this way. He pees outside... but it's still nice to not have to stop at mailboxes and fire hydrants!!!

| Pray, pray that he always squats. I'm hoping nuetering will keep Baxter squatting. My pom started spraying (lifting) at about 12 months. Made a big mess. All over his hair! This is one of the reasons I wanted a girl but one look at Baxter and I was gone. |

| My yorkie, Booboo squatted for years and then I got a male chihuahua who lifted his leg and he taught Booboo how to lift his and now they have to wear belly bands!! Maybe if you just keep one boy they won't learn the bad habit!! Good luck!

| Love all of your replies!! Maybe he'll still squat after neutering too...there is hope. I always loved having a girl dog because when you want to pat or rub their belly, no problem, no tinky gets in the way!
