| Another reason not to leave the babies unattended Last year we built a fenced in yard for the babies off the deck. Its about 25'x35' and can be accessed from the deck. My routine in the afternoon after work is let the babies out while I call my mom, who is 2 hrs. away. Well, yesterday, I started doing something before I went out to make my call. After about 15 mins., I opened the door to let them in and Deuce is choking! I grabbed him up and he's gagging and chewing, and gasping for breath! I opened his mouth, but couldn't see anything. By this time I'm in a panic! Luckily, the vet is only 5 mins away and I knew he was still there. While I was driving, like a mad woman, Deuce calmed down, but I wasn't sure if he was ok, or not breathing. By the time I got there, he seemed fine. Dr. Bob checked him out and couldn't see anything and tried to give him a treat to make sure he'd swallow, but being the picky pup he is, he wouldn't touch it. He gave him an anti-inflamatory shot in case he throat was scratched and started to swell. I fed him when we got home and he ate fine. This morning he's the little fire ball he is everything morning, and had a good poop, so I'm hoping all is well. I'm sure he found a twig to chew on while he was outside. Scared the crap out of me!

| It's amazing at what these little guys can get into so fast! Tessa has found all the old bones that have been buried since last summer from her big sister! I have to go around the yard everyday, as the snow melts, and pick up all the little things that are laying around.
